As part of our ongoing R&D programme, we've just put our 3mm ZircoFlex? SHIELD product through its paces on a static dyno and data confirms our heat shielding solution keeps components 22% cooler than a rival product – that's twice as thick. Our latest tests were conducted using a TOCA-spec British Touring Car Championship engine to simulate the operational stresses found in a high-performance automotive environment. The objective was to assess the thermal barrier performance of ZircoFlex? SHIELD in two different configurations: as an integral heat shield and as a detachable product. Both 3mm products were tested against a competitor’s 6mm fibre-based insulation blanket. When VVT system fails, the engine won't be able to produce enough power to ensure proper acceleration and power output. A faulty VVT system can cause a huge performance drop, if it is unable to advance the camshaft timing during acceleration. VVT system use oil pressure to activate the valve timing mechanism. In most situations, that mechanism is a camshaft actuator also known as a phaser or VVT gear controlled by a VVT solenoid or OCV Oil Control Valve. A bad VVT may produce rattling noises and cause engine performance issues.??

Torsional Coupling is a driveline component designed to transmit torque with a very low spring constant along the axis of rotation. This helps detune the driveline and shift any damaging resonances safely below the operating speed. According to the requirements of NFPA 20, for vertical turbine pumps using right-angle gear drives driven by a diesel engine, a listed torsional coupling must be used and mounted on the engine side of the driveshaft. Torsional couplings are highly effective in moving harmful stresses out of the operating speed ranges of these pump systems. However, if the stiffness or damping characteristics of the coupling are not selected properly, it can actually worsen the system’s torsional activity at the operating speed.
