It can be a bit of a nerve-wracking experience to ask for a raise. Your team member will most likely ask you for a raise when the discomfort of not having the raise outweighs the pain of asking for it. How do you go about giving out raises to your property management team?

?Paperwork Happy Week ? Whether you love paperwork, or hate paperwork, it's something we all have in our homes and lives. It can be overwhelming if you don't have a system for it, and things can easily get misplaced. Clean & Tidy Home Show have teamed up with fyio and APDO Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers to launch Paperwork Happy Week. We want you to be paperwork happy ?? - because if you’re not in control of your paperwork, you’re not in control of your life. A few steps to get started: 1. Take it one piece at a time ?? 2. Discard the envelopes ?? 3. If it takes less than 2 minutes to do, sort on the spot ?? 4. If it's out of date, discard! ?? 5. Don't duplicate - is the information available digitally? ?? Are you paperwork happy? #PaperworkHappyWeek #Declutter #Organise #TidyHome Sian Pelleschi (she/her) Louise Marsh Sarah Wrixon

Who here has taken 30 days off with emergency access only? I've started mine, today is Day 2, and if I'm being really honest with myself it's uncomfortable for me. I know it's only day 2, but I realize that taking time for myself is hard for me. The sad reality is I don't think I know how to do that. I don't know how to NOT work. I don't know how to just focus on myself and NOT feel uncomfortable about it. When our nanny arrived at our home yesterday with my daughter she said, "I'm so used to seeing you in the study when I get here" and it was like a gut punch. That's where I always am. In the study. Working. Maybe this is what this 30 days off is intended to do. If you've done this before please share your experience and wisdom. Finally, here is a video of our 52nd Live Quarterly Meeting (LQM) with our members of How To MANAGE a Small Law Firm, who flew to Denver, Colorado to join us. The LQM talked about lawyers getting out of the grind, to stop hiding out in the grind, and taking action in the next 90 days. There was even an exercise on how to plan to take 30 days off with emergency access only like I'm doing. So yes we actually teach AND walk the walk. I'm finally back home after this LQM and trying to walk the walk. Albeit poorly, but I'm trying. And I think that's the point.

If you have been adversely affected by #Horizon and the #postofficescandal and have not yet participated in the not the judicial Inquiry into the scandal then please, please read this
Please share as widely as you can this very important letter of Sir Wyn Williams who is running the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry. He feels that it's very important that people who have been adversely affected by Horizon and the #postofficescandal and who are not core participants in the Inquiry, should come forwards and "speak in their own words". It's blindingly obvious that for years (decades even) thousands of #subpostmasters have been too scared or or intimidated to do so because of lack of faith in the system, itself caused by the disgusting and intimidatory tactics of the #postoffice top brass and their lawyers. Well there has been a sea change since the ITV Mr Bates series, so folk can and should come forward with courage and impunity to air their complaints and get their just compensation David Phillips Antony Perlmutter Brian Rogers FCMI Nick Gould Nick Wallis Natasha Bondy Dan Neidle Richard Moorhead.

?? Housing friends! My colleague and I are working on a short article for the Talking Stick with the topic “Ripping the Band-Aid Off: Developing a Staff Who Can Ask for Help.” If you were at Campus Home. Live! this summer, we presented on the topic there. We have worked through our first draft of our article and are being tasked with pulling quotes/reflections from individuals who do the work that we talk about beyond ourselves. Specifically, we were asked to gather quotes of experience related to advocating for your staff post-crisis (PTO, Flex Time, etc.) so that we can help create sustainable solutions, not just one-off bandages. Additionally, we are looking for quotes/reflections about times that you have enacted/experienced a person-first check-in method. We often get caught up in the whirlwind of navigating a million moving pieces post-crisis that sometimes we ask a brief “how are you” before diving into logistical questions, or we bypass the check in entirely. If you have experiences or reflections that you would be willing to share with us, we would sincerely appreciate it! We will be working with Camille from the Talking Stick to highlight some of these quotes. Happy to answer any questions you may have or share a draft so you have a better idea of what we’re covering as well!
