You have an HVAC service lead, and it's a lead with equipment identified by your CSR department as "aged" (a potential replacement opportunity). Do you give this lead to: Technician A who turns over zero of ten opportunities to your sales team. Technician B who turns over three of ten opportunities to your sales team. Technician C who turns over five of ten opportunities to your sales team. *BTW you own the HVAC business and you're responsible for all the bills, your family, and the livelihood of every employee and their families... We'll also assume that your sales team are ethical professionals that sell about 50% of turnovers. Imagine the impact of this over a full year... #hvac #familybusiness #salesprocess

?? Call-by-Call Management: Helping Technicians Stay Organized (and Keep Their Tools in Check!) ???? For HVAC technicians, staying organized in the field is essential for efficiency, quality service, and saving time. But with the fast pace of daily calls, it’s easy for tools, equipment, or even critical steps in the process to get misplaced or overlooked. That’s where Call-by-Call Management steps in to bring order to the chaos. Here’s how call-by-call managers help technicians stay organized and avoid losing tools: ? Pre-Call Preparation: Call-by-call managers ensure techs are fully prepared before arriving at a job, verifying that they have the right tools, parts, and equipment for the task ahead. ? Guiding Step-by-Step Processes: During each call, managers help techs follow a structured process, so nothing—tools or tasks—gets left behind or forgotten. ? Time Management Support: Call managers help techs stay on track, reducing the rush to pack up quickly and preventing misplaced tools during transitions between calls. ? Encouraging Accountability: By documenting and tracking job details, call-by-call managers encourage techs to double-check their setup and packing routines, keeping their gear intact and ready for the next job. ? Efficient Tool Utilization: Managers often remind techs of the best tools or diagnostic equipment for specific tasks, helping them use their resources more effectively and keeping tools in circulation. ? Follow-Up Checks: After the job, call-by-call managers can review with techs to ensure all tools are accounted for, preventing costly losses and time spent searching later. A well-organized technician is a more efficient and confident one. At The Perfect Service Call, LLC, our call-by-call management approach doesn’t just focus on sales and diagnostics—it’s about supporting technicians in every way possible to help them excel in the field. Want to help your techs stay sharp, organized, and ready for every call? Let’s connect and discuss how call-by-call management can make it happen! https://lnkd.in/gZt4YPGF #HVAC #HVACR #CallByCallManagement #ThePerfectServiceCall #FieldOrganization #ToolManagement #TechnicianSupport #ServiceExcellence #Efficiency #BusinessGrowth

We didn’t have service managers a year ago. Now we have four and it’s been the revenue hack I wanted. It’s a system that took time to hone, but we’ve done it four times now by asking the important questions. What is their workflow? How do they gel with the team? What type of person are they and does that equal leadership? Can they handle our call-by-call system, where that service manager is in touch with the technician each step of the way to talk sales and service options? That org structure is just so big that we need that kind of constant contact for all of this to work as intended. But it's been an amazing system for everyone involved. Customers get service and treatment specific to their needs, technicians learn and grow from each call, and managers get their finger on the pulse of day-to-day work. #HVAC #Plumbing #Electrical

System efficiency, lifetime and your home’s comfort - a great team of technicians performing a high quality install is at the heart of that.
How to Hire HVAC Technicians? Don’t! w/ Chris Mui Just never let the good ones leave. Here’s how we’ve been doing it at Electric Air: ?? Don’t overload them with too much work. Sure, they’ll hustle in the short term, but they get tired and frustrated over time. And that isn’t good for everyone—techs, customers, and quality. It’s better to rest and regroup if you're stretched too thin. ?? Create accountability. In our industry, tough love is necessary. If there are no consequences for poor performance or lateness, others on the team will notice, and morale will dip. Standards will drop. ? Don’t throw them into impossible projects. Let them voice concerns about a job before it starts so they take ownership. Hold them accountable for their estimates. Trust breaks down when you hold them to your account, and they can’t meet it. ?? Repeat important information. HVAC work can be physically demanding; after a long, hot day, it’s easy to miss details. Be patient, repeat instructions, and don’t mind doing it! ?? Understand their life goals. Your company could play a big role in their future. Support their ambitions, and they’ll reward you with loyalty. We’re constantly learning to do this better, but these steps have helped us at Electric Air— is a picture of sales briefing technicians for upcoming jobs. #heatpumps #decarb #electrification #HVAC

3 Signs It’s Time to Hire More HVAC Employees 1. Current HVAC Technician Workloads Reach Full Capacity After finishing preparations to launch a marketing campaign or sales push, consider what the health of the business will look like if the campaign is successful. 2. You’re Turning Down Profitable Jobs The concept here is simple: if you’re turning down profitable jobs because you don’t have enough technicians, then it’s time to hire more HVAC employees. 3. There’s No Bandwidth to Promote Top Talent Even if you have enough technicians to complete jobs and grow your business, it’s pointless if there’s no bandwidth to promote top talent. Since amazing HVAC technicians are difficult to find, it’s essential to keep them happy in the business by establishing a dependable career path. #FieldEdge #hiringplans #hvachiring #hiringshortage #hiringtips

The #securityindustry (starting with #accesscontrol) should eliminate degree requirements and focus on skills to attract the right people. If you don’t think we can because we are the #security industry… I read this weekend how Trane Technologies (aka Trane) has removed degree requirements for roughly 50 job categories. These include sales and account manager, plant supervisor, and test stand engineer. It’s worked not only for them but for the industry. If the #HVAC industry can do it, why can’t we? There’s no better time to be in the access control industry than now, so let’s go get the talent to join us. Access Control Executive Brief
