Take C.H.A.R.G.E. of Battery Safety ahead of the upcoming holiday shopping season. Lithium-ion batteries have many positives, but because they're storing more energy, there are also some risks. If they're misused, mistreated or damaged, they can enter thermal runaway and cause fires. 40% of Americans are not aware of the thermal runaway risk associated with lithium-ion batteries (UL Standards & Engagement, 2024). This awareness gap can lead to tragic outcomes if safe practices are not followed. Help close that gap with our latest resources now available on https://lnkd.in/efmgQCNZ. A great visualization of the explosions that take place. Most people need to learn the energy force stored within these batteries, which differs from traditional acid batteries. Portability and ease of charging do not mean that you can be careless or ignorant of the risks. Thank you for the work you do, Fire Safety Research Institute !
We did the same test to see how fast the Flame Detector would detect thermal runaway.?The average time to detect and alarm was < 2 seconds from 20 feet away.?That was the single test that convinced me the Flame Detector should go wherever I charge my electronics. Flame Detector
Dovid Muyderman. Our team always likes to promote battery safety! Always good to get this out in advance of the holidays.
Ho Victor - As we were discussing.
