Congratulations to FRONTLINE's editor-in-chief and executive producer, Raney Aronson-Rath, on being awarded the 2024 John Chancellor Excellence in Journalism Award from Columbia Journalism School. Over a career spanning more than 25 years in journalism — as a reporter, producer, correspondent and now at the helm of FRONTLINE, the award-winning PBS documentary series produced at GBH in Boston — Aronson-Rath’s “accomplishments have earned her the industry’s highest praise,” Columbia noted. The prestigious John Chancellor Award is presented annually to a journalist “with courage and integrity for cumulative professional accomplishments.”

Take one. Journalism with storytelling was my dream. What I'm trying to do is I'm trying to get us closer to the truth. The stunning Hopkins 24/7. I was in the pediatric intensive care unit to watch him very, very slowly get worse. And there's just nothing we can do but wait and hope. It showed me the kind of work I wanted to do in long form. I really wanted to work for Fred Line. You know, it's one of those profound moments. So when you were actually in the brothel, you did not know about HIV. I feel better than I've ever felt. So obviously something's. That our rights or derived from God. The real danger for the men and women returning is that they could be forgotten. The assault on abortion rights is very clever. It's very smart and we are losing. There's a dire need for institutions that tell the truth and that chase it at all costs. This is my moment to introduce you to the next executive producer, Frontline when he answered every role I've had it Frontline has been a privilege. It's my promise to all of you important. Ideas matter. They're scared of the militias as they are of ISIS. I need you to understand what we are fighting for. I'm Maria Ressa. We demanded the government be held accountable. These players come down with dementia and in Alzheimer's, and then they're gone. Investigative journalism is about challenging people in positions of power. The time for games has passed. Did the regime kill Jamal Khashoggi? It was a show of power and control. Is he not recognizing the importance of his platform? They made a deeply unethical decision. And soldiers chewed my husband. With all this death and destruction, it's hard not to look back and say, where did the road turn? The second guessing is haunting. But I think Frontlines really amazing is reporting on domestic issues. It's tough because my mom and dad are poor. Conduct yourself like a human being when they treat you like an animal. I can't run through fire. And he said you're going to have to. Way that still respects people's rights. It doesn't feel like we're essential, feels like we're slaves. We definitely are the modern militia. We're the ones crazy enough to actually do something. The officers understood that the weapon was so war style weapon. The president's intent was to stay in power at all costs. This is for Donald Trump, a chance to go out. The winner he must be. Kamala Harris demands respect. If it's not given to her, she demands it. I wonder about the American dream. I haven't seen anybody in my neighborhood. Come from rags to riches. Reimagining a news organization in the digital age. Very quickly took positions on Judge Kavanaugh. What is the advice you're hearing from the doctors? They're saying get ready because this is very, very real and to prepare. You must tell the whole story, the complete story. At Fountain, we're in constant conversation about our journalistic values. As with all good journalism, it's not easy. That happens because of the extraordinary talent and dedication of those who make Frontline and of course our partners in the journalistic collaborations that have become a mainstay. And the Oscar goes to 20 days in Maricopa. Cinema forms memories and memories form history. We are all unified by the single pursuit of clear eyed, fair and tough journalism.

What are the Educational, Health, or Economic Benefits to these Players and their Families for that kids uncompensated participation in any additional “NON-SCHOLARSHIP” private third-party postseason football games that pay the Universities and the Conferences for the use of their free labor to put on these highly profitable Bowl events. The answer is ZERO! These additional 1-5 POSTSEASON games are also above the Players’ 12 game athletic scholarship agreement? Our Proposal offers Major Benefits in all three Categories to the Players and their Families! Scholarship Football Players are owed Hundreds of Millions of dollars from this year’s Media contract that uses these Players’ Name, Image, and Likeness NIL without any equitable financial consideration to the Players or their Families! This lost Money could have a major impact on these Players lives, the lives of their current and future family members for generations? We do not support, or agree with the House vs NCAA Settlement or the current covert attempts to extend and expand this Antitrust exploitation of our young (mostly minority) FB & BB Players' labor that the US Supreme Court and Federal District Court have recently struck down as illegal and implausible.

Regardless of all the success I have achieved as a journalist and host of First Take, this award heightens my awareness of the responsibility that I have to be in tireless pursuit of the truth and to be fair and humane along the way. The honor is the most important and gratifying honor of my professional career, and I call on journalists “to keep standing up for the truth” and against subjective interpretations of the truth in these uncertain times “when facts and truth and journalism seem to matter less.”

I just completed an online course on " Introduction to Digital Journalism" by Reuters. I really enjoyed this course. It is very enriched with lots of useful resources and guidelines to operate as independent media in this turbulent world. We don't usually get to see audiences enjoy solutions journalism — the newsrooms receive that benefit. Instead, we get to watch journalists find and embrace solutions reporting. This year SJN — with nearly five dozen advisors and judges — gave out the first ever Solutions Journalism Network Awards. To celebrate, we talked to a couple of the honorees. If you want to know how solutions journalism can enrich your reporting, Peter Yeung and Helina Selemon are two pretty reliable and informative sources. They and SJN co-founder David Bornstein appear in this video celebrating not just the awards but the impact solutions reporting has had on their work. We aren't going to mince words: In an era with high levels of journalism burnout and swirling questions about the value of our industry, more and more journalists are revitalizing their relationship to journalism with SoJo. Watching that is our prize.

forensic journalism, now that is an interesting concept. The media are highly protective of their sources with some who have even gone to jail to protect their sources' identities. Forensic means scientific methods used to investigate crime to ultimately prosecute. With the conundrum of source protection, are we to see an upswing in journalists or media houses prosecuting crimes?
