?? Donated Blood – And Learned Something Cool! ??Stephanie Edra thank you for organizing this event! I had the privilege of donating blood in partnership with Stanford Blood Center at the Hyatt Centric. Not only was it an important experience, but I also learned something fascinating that I wanted to share. Turns out, my blood type is O-, and apparently, that makes me a universal donor! ???? It’s pretty rare, though, which means it can sometimes be harder to find donors with compatible blood. So, of course, I couldn’t help but ask: Do they save O- blood for other O- people? ?? Her answer blew my mind: Nope! O- blood is actually used in emergency situations, especially when babies are born and their blood type isn't yet known, or in trauma cases when there's no time to check blood types. That O- blood is a lifesaver when every second counts. ?? It’s incredible to know how something as simple as donating blood can make such a huge difference. Today might be a day you don't understand. I am reminding myself that fear is our greatest barrier to understanding because it separates us. Moving forward, we need to prepare banquet tables large enough to include those with divergent perspectives and lived experiences so that we might better understand. Instead, we have found ourselves huddled around bistro tables where we can only hear those closest to us — those who think and live like us, those who value what we value. How are we to repair our communities and build a world worthy of our descendants if we don’t seek understanding? Thanksgiving Day Celebrations!!! Thanksgiving Day, rooted in gratitude and appreciation, holds significant importance when celebrated in a school environment. This occasion not only educates students about its historical and cultural relevance but also instills values essential for personal growth and community building. It helps in Fostering Gratitude, Building Community, Cultural Awareness, Promoting Values, Creative Engagement, Strengthening School spirit...etc. Incorporating Thanksgiving Day celebrations at school provides an opportunity to nurture well-rounded individuals who value gratitude, inclusivity, and compassion—qualities that form the foundation of a harmonious society.

I came across the news today that NSW Government is launching a parliamentary inquiry into the impacts of loneliness (Ref: https://lnkd.in/eErqnbDq), it struck a deeply personal chord with me. This isn’t just a policy issue—it’s something I’ve lived through in the most challenging way During the pandemic, I made a personal decision not to get vaccinated. It was a choice that led to many people (including life long friends and family) turning their backs on me, and I found myself more alone than I’d ever been in my life. The loneliness was overwhelming. My hair even started falling out from the stress and isolation. It was a time when I felt completely ostracised, like I didn’t belong anywhere. That experience taught me just how much we all need one another. We’re wired to be connected, to be part of a tribe. When that’s taken away—when we’re isolated or cast out—it can feel like a piece of us is missing. But it also showed me the power of community, even when it feels out of reach. OneAnother was created at the beginning of the pandemic, as I wanted to build a space where people could reconnect, no matter what their circumstances. We started hosting community connection events, and promoting frequent acts of kindness to bring people from all walks of life together. It wasn't just about socialising, or volunteering — our community is about finding a sense of purpose, rediscovering our values, and practicing self-compassion. They’re about making sure no one ever has to feel as alone as I did. I believe that by investing in our own purpose and values, and by being kind to ourselves and others, we can start to rebuild that sense of community. It’s not just about having people around—it’s about truly connecting with them on a deeper level. When we do that, we can become a collective again, a society where everyone feels they belong. The government’s inquiry is a hopeful sign that we’re starting to take loneliness seriously. But real change starts with each of us, by reaching out, showing up, and being there for one another. Because at the end of the day, we all need someone to lean on.

My graditude journey. As I look back over the past year, I’m reminded of the importance of showing up and holding myself accountable for my own growth. Facing myself hasn’t always been easy—leaning into fear, learning from failures, and letting go of insecurities. But through it all, I’ve learned how powerful it is to feel good in my own skin and truly trust myself. Now, I know that whatever I set out to do, I am capable. Every connection I make, I know I’m worthy of someone’s time and energy. But getting here hasn’t been a simple journey. Building self-love and self-trust is hard work. It takes courage to confront insecurities and commit to nurturing yourself. It’s easy to use insecurity as an excuse, but I’ve learned that self-love is the real recipe for success. When you believe in your worth, you’re unstoppable. Here’s to the journey of self-discovery, growth, and embracing our full potential. With gratitude,
