Attention electric vehicle owners— Google Maps is getting an update that will help locate charging stations more easily. With real-time info on availability and charging speed, the update makes planning road trips with charging stops easier. A recent survey conducted by FreeWire revealed that only 12% of drivers found their charging stations through Google Maps, the other predominant methods being Plugshare and charging network applications. Will Google's updates lead more EV drivers to use their app? Remember, as a site host, it's important to have your charger listed across multiple platforms with accurate information and compelling photos to help drive traffic! Micro-transit is being hailed as a solution for smaller communities to provide a flexible system for those unable to drive. But, the reality is that it's often an expensive subsidy for low-density suburban development patterns. This article says it best: "An economist would say that micro transit does not offer economies of scale: The cost of providing the first rider’s trip is roughly equal to that of a third rider, or a tenth, or a thousandth. And those costs can be significant. In Los Angeles, for example, a microtransit ride costs passengers only $1, but?each one receives a $42 subsidy." We need more walkable density and pedestrian/cycling infrastructure. Only then will we have true mobility choices.

This is what they want you to believe, that there is no solution. Our model is operating with better and better results, and in November our revenue exceeded operational expenses - a FIRST for Microtransit. And these results were completely ignored by our public transit company in order to implement a system proven to fail. That way there is no change, and bus companies keep their lucrative contracts despite not working in smaller cities and rural areas. If you want a genuine solution for your community, we can show you exactly how to do that.

The takeaway here is that “sustainable” mobility is IMPOSSIBLE in low density and sprawled suburban areas. Micro-transit will help improve accessibility BUT it will not be sustainable. Optimising densities around transit is as much a sustainable mobility solution as it is a sustainable development solution. There is no way around it.

This right here.... Do we REALLY want to serve and improve overall "community health" or are we going to continue giving this issue lip service, tour meaningless statistics and point fingers? Doing things the old way and mirror the mass transit of large communities doesn't cut it anymore for smaller communities. Exponential growth in demand and the specific need for tailored services doesn't come anywhere close to helping the underserved; which is at the core of public funding requirements. There are much better solutions available and emerging. Communities need to demand more accountability from their leaders on failing programs and make the changes now.

Where do you charge you Electric Vehicle when not at home? ???New Zapmap statistics have shown that the UK has surpassed 60,000 public charging points. The first four months of the year have seen an average of more than 1,900 devices installed every month, up from the 2023 average of 1,400 per month. ??The 60,000 figure comprises a number of different types of chargers including en-route charging for longer journeys, charging provision at destinations, as well as lower-powered charge points on residential streets. ? ?Zapmap’s statistics show that the number of ultra-rapid devices – designed for en-route charging - has increased by 135% since April 2023. There are now 4,988 of these devices across the country. Melanie Shufflebotham, Co-founder & COO at Zapmap, said:“Hitting 60,000 public charging devices is an extremely significant milestone for electric car drivers across the country. “Without a doubt, it is great news for electric car drivers that not only the sheer number but also the variety of charging options are improving every month.” ??Looking ahead, given the current rate of installation, Zapmap’s calculations show that the UK is likely to reach 100,000 public charging devices as early as August 2025. https://lnkd.in/gDSRYQ3J #networking #smallbusiness #commercialproperty #womeninbusiness #growth #management #costefficient #grants #commerciallending #commercialfinance #accountants

Hello, With the increasing prevalence of electric vehicles in the market, the business opportunities surrounding EV charging stations are expanding significantly. There's a notable rise in charging station installations, particularly in urban areas and along highways. Recognizing this promising landscape, many individuals are investing in establishing charging stations. However, the profitability of such ventures is influenced by numerous factors, including both capital and operating costs, aspects that some may overlook. To address this, I've developed a web app specifically designed to calculate the profitability of an EV charging station business. It takes into consideration various costs associated with running the business. Many factors, whether to include or exclude, depend on the charger cost and the software solution provider enabling public charging via a mobile application. Please feel free to utilize this app to assess the Return on Investment (ROI). Web App Link: https://lnkd.in/gGMYUjcY I'd love to hear your thoughts on the app. Hoping that the app is bug free. #EV #EVCharging #ChargePointOperator #CPO #EVinfrastructure #EVCharger #CPOs #EMSP #EMobilityServiceProvider
