Our latest case study, in partnership with The Villages Health System, LLC, showcases how health systems can effectively engage their patients and identify behavioral health risk in Medicare populations. The Villages Health already established a hugely successful collaborative care program, known as Tandem Care, which increased behavioral health access and lowered total costs by 39%. With NeuroFlow, The Villages was able to scale the impact of this program by systematically identifying those in need of behavioral health support and improving care coordination. In one cohort, the health system identified that 24% of patients, who were not previously enrolled in Tandem Care, had behavioral health needs and would benefit from this program. Measurement-based care is a common factor in effective integrated care models. According to new research out this month (which our own Anna Ratzliff worked on!), specialty behavioral health and primary care providers alike often under-utilize behavioral health measures with patients. However, measurement-based care can improve health outcomes and increase behavioral health care access (e.g., earlier symptom identification and referral). In its first year, the 988 Lifeline answered nearly 5 million calls, texts and chats. Experts predict that 988 call centers will respond to 7.5 million contacts in 2025 from individuals in crisis.
