Dean at IESE Business School, 耶萨商学院

Next up on The Dean’s Call!??? In this month’s episode, I sat down with IESE Business School professor?Mireia Gine?to explore a topic at the forefront of business transformation—and especially timely as we approach the two-year anniversary of #ChatGPT:?AI adoption?and its impact on companies and leadership. One surprising insight? As companies embrace #AI, they don’t reduce their need for managers—they actually need more. But these managers require a new set of skills: problem-solving, stakeholder management, and driving growth, rather than tasks like budgeting and forecasting. It’s a fascinating look at how technology is reshaping leadership in today’s world. Watch the video below and join the conversation: - How is AI transforming your organization? - What skills do you think leaders need most in an AI-driven era? Let’s discuss!

Thanks for sharing Mireia. Extremely insightful findings from the extraordinary amount of this intriguing data. Shifting the focus from worries about losing the menial jobs to AI, to the exciting future with almost an evolutionary leap of humans towards assuming a more cognitively enhanced creative, innovative, and supervisory role is such a brighter picture of the future. Proud to have worked in your research group.

I love this Franz Heukamp and Mireia Gine! The shift up the cognitive ladder to better manage the AI transformation process and the known and unknown tensions this new technology brings is a fascinating challenge for managers everywhere. My sense is that more creative problem solving skills will be needed as organizations transition from using this as a complementary technology to full agentic deployment. Great video and great research! thank you for sharing.

Frank, thanks for sharing! And more interesting is the fact, that in my experience, the IA adoption is being led by HR or People Departments, improving processes and reducing time and uneficiency. Any findings in your research on that Mireia Gine? Great insights, thanks!

Very interesting points made and supported with research, not just an opinion, we need more insights like this one. AI is approaching faster than we can process in all aspects within life&work. The pace is unchangeable, but as a society what we could change or be better at is to educate professionals and citizens in how AI can impact us moving forward at all levels from work to medicine to education itself, and be better prepared for the AI revolution.

No matter AI, placing #people at the center of the organisation keeps being fundamental. People+AI can have a multiplier effect that might not happen if there’s only focus on AI. therefore, empathy and caring to manage volatility and transformations are very valuable and appreciated. And rigorous approaches to focus on providing real value instead of constantly being distracted by a new IT tool.
