a very important judgement indeed!! harsh social ,political ,and economical conditions often turn one into a criminal. No one is born a criminal. our society is responsible for turning a person into criminal the reason being lack of socialization , peer pressure, lack of accommodation ,inclusion and on top of all a cut throat competition for survival so what can be done?? punish criminal or help them reform- if offenders are punished severely and repeatedly for minor or major offences they might turn into hardened criminals ; not afraid of suffering punishment on the other hand giving reform facilities to all specialy the serious offenders will make the situation worse by propagating a message that even if you commit offence you will be given a second chance and resocialized,further this cycle of offence >reform>second chance>offence would continue...... then how to treat the offenders? Absolutely on case by case basis.... a petty offender can be given a chance of reform with simple punishment a serious offender must be given a rigorous punishment and also an opportunity to reform a repeated offender or hardened criminal can be given a combination of punishment and reform facility depending on the nature and degree of severity of crime commited it is important to extend reform facility to all no matter what but with appropriate punishment as and when required. the punishment should be proportionate and it will act as a deterrent for everyone . moreover efforts should be made to make the society more inclusive and cooperative towards evryone. If we focus on the core value of unity in diversity and fulfill our responsibilities towards each other well ,at the same time respect each other's right there will be no more havoc.... however this is a perfect situation and perfection is a myth let me know your thoughts on this ?? #cutrhroatcompetition #criminals #society #reform #punishment #
