During the event, Prof. Piero Salatino from the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (UniNa) / University of Naples Federico II highlighted the transformative potential of fluidized bed technology, developed in collaboration with #Magaldi, in advancing #TES thermal #EnergyStorage for a greener future: "Thermal energy storage is going to play an increasing role in #PowerToHeat systems. Our contribution has been to demonstrate the potential of fluidized bed technology, which enables highly efficient #HeatStorage, supporting the energy transition toward decarbonization". He further stressed the importance of sustainable materials: " Fluidized beds offer several advantages for #ThermalEnergyStorage, including high thermal conductivity, a broad temperature range, and the availability of abundant materials like sand. These characteristics make them a robust and sustainable solution for storing high-quality heat, which is essential for decarbonizing industrial processes”. We are glad to announce the kick-off of our CETPartnership RESTORE project with partners OWI Science for Fuels gGmbH, UMONS and University of Groningen. RESTORE will focus on the development on a ultra efficient CHP system based on a hybridization of a micro gas turbine and SOFC fuel cell to convert industry off or "dirty" gas into useful electricity and heat, while allowing for easy carbon capturing from the system exhaust gas stream. The project will contribute to the reduction of GHG emissions in industry by more electrification and carbon capturing. The Clean Energy Transition Partnership ( CETPartnership ) is a transnational initiative on joint Research,?Technological Development and Innovation (RTDI) programming to boost and accelerate the energy?transition, building upon regional and national RTDI funding programmes. WHAT IS THIS Istanbul Technical University and tech firm Devecitech have made a leap in renewable energy with their creation, ENLIL. This vertical turbine harnesses wind energy generated by traffic and solar energy simultaneously. WHY THIS IS AWESOME ? Innovative application of renewable energy, utilizing air turbulence from traffic. ? Combines wind and solar power in one compact device. ? Versatility in installation locales, from roadside to high-rises. ? Real-time data collection on environmental factors for city authorities. The genius behind this invention is entrepreneur Kerem Deveci, with his lightbulb moment actually happening while traveling on Istanbul's Metrobüs network. He noticed the wind created by these vehicles had the potential to be harnessed and converted into usable energy. With this brainwave, backed by the financial support of his friends and family, he produced the first prototype. The potential of ENLIL is enormous. Imagine a world where every city can generate power from the simple act of vehicles passing by. The implications for renewable energy are staggering and it's incredible to see how Deveci's brainwave has the potential to drastically reduce carbon emissions globally. This is the type of invention that will mark future of renewable energy, and it's pretty exciting. #RenewableEnergy #Innovation #Sustainability

?? Plant DAWN: Construction update ?? We’re thrilled to share the latest update on the construction of DAWN, our industrial-scale solar fuel plant. ?? The heliostat field at plant DAWN has been installed, ready to focus the sunlight onto the receiver at the top of the tower to generate solar process heat for the production of solar fuels. ?? The in-house developed heliostats are specially designed to be coupled with our solar receiver to produce solar process heat to drive solar fuel production. ?? DAWN is our first industrial-scale demonstration plant, located in Jülich, Germany. With DAWN, we demonstrate the viability of the Sun-to-Liquid technology with concentrated solar thermal energy at relevant scale. DAWN is a crucial step in our journey to contribute to a net-zero transportation sector. ?? Fuels from DAWN will be used in showcases throughout the transportation sector to demonstrate the importance of renewable fuels in the energy transition. ?
