Leadership thought of the day: I think it’s important that the line level employee has a high degree of technical education around control environments. Often times leaders take the approach of choosing to withhold because they don’t feel it’s relevant and they’re more focused on results. Employees need to have the understanding and the context. If they don’t know the why or the importance, they’re much more likely to find the path of least resistance and that impedes effective risk management. They should know what a control is and how it impacts them.
