?? Why should startup founders attend Future Worlds Demo Day? ?? From our time with the Cohort founders in Silicon Valley we've seen the power to get things done and momentum that can be created by getting like-minded people together in one place. 1. We see, time and again, that founders really enjoy talking with other founders - they get what it's really like to be trying to change the world from a standing start! There'll be lots of other founders there. 2. Central to the fantastic outcomes achieved by Future Worlds founders is the support of our wide network of experts and investors. They give their time and expertise for free to support our founders cohort and want to support them on Demo Day, so they'll be there. 3. You can see, first hand, what Future Worlds does for founders and why it always makes for a great event. This is a nice, 'low-risk' way to engage with Future Worlds. Tickets to Future Worlds Demo Day are free, but spaces are limited, so book your place now. https://lnkd.in/evYUqVQc

BarCamp is not your typical conference. It’s an open, participatory workshop where YOU set the agenda. Attendees are encouraged to share their knowledge, ideas, and experiences in a relaxed, collaborative environment. There are no spectators at BarCamp – only participants! This year's focus is on building a robust small business and startup ecosystem in Central and West Central Minnesota. We're building a regional community where ideas flourish and founders and friends can connect, learn, and grow. Why Attend? Connect with Local Innovators: Meet like-minded individuals who share your passion for business and innovation. Expand your network with other small business owners, startups, and professionals in Central MN. Learn and Share: With sessions ranging from startup funding to digital marketing, you'll find a wealth of knowledge ready to be shared. And if you have a topic you're passionate about, sign up to lead a session! Spark New Ideas: The unstructured format of BarCamp encourages creative thinking and collaboration. Engage in spontaneous discussions that could ignite the next big idea for your business. Be Part of the Community: Central MN is bustling with entrepreneurial spirit. This is your chance to contribute to and benefit from a growing ecosystem that's dedicated to supporting small businesses and startups. ?? Pre-seed folks from my network, who wants to secure up to $170k in funding on a SAFE with a flexible cap? It's a very good deal if you ask me. ULTRA.VC just opened the applications for the 2nd cohort of their acceleration program, beginning at the end of March. If selected, you'll receive $35k in cash + $35k in no-bullshit services (including my coaching) right away, plus a follow-on commitment for the next round, which you'll hopefully raise by the end of the program. ?? Comment below/DM me with your blurb and a link to the product to apply. No specific requirements, but having an MVP with some initial traction plus some kind of impactful side to your startup would be a plus. ?? DO NOT send me your decks; I believe it’s a bad habit that founders should avoid prior to face-to-face conversations. P.S. This is a photo of me hosting the Demo Day of the first cohort in Tbilisi, Georgia. Comment below if you want the recording.

It was a great two days at the #SaaSOpen conference in Austin last week, where hundreds of serious SaaS founders learned from each other in one place. - Dozens of successful founders shared their hard-earned learnings from building companies from $10 million to over $100 million in revenue. - Deep dive tactical sessions focussed on SaaS growth, product, and finance - Many opportunities to meet with founders, experts, and investors in scheduled 1-1 meetings and roundtables. You can't duplicate the power of in-person meetings and the serendipity of meeting like-minded people who are all under one roof for two days. I hosted a dinner for Practical Founders dinner with 25 SaaS founders from all over the world. Thanks to Matt Watson of Full Scale for sponsoring the dinner and being such a gracious co-host. Matt is an OG practical founder who appeared on my podcast last year to tell the story of one of his four software startup successes. Now, he works with practical software founders to provide flexible engineering talent at Full Scale. This wasn't a conference about unicorns and big funding. It was mostly practical founders who were building valuable software companies without big VC funding. Most founders there had companies with more than $1M ARR, and many had over $20M ARR. Startups getting on the field were also there, learning from others. Kudos to Nathan Latka and the Founderpath team for hosting their annual event and making it so productive. #practicalfounders

What I learned at this years Startup nights? 1. Team Our team has an incredible positive attitude, energy and we just work hard! ???????? 12 hour days? No problem! Debrief at 23:30? No problem! World. Class. Team! ???? 2. Leads Startup Days are not where we generate new Clients. It‘s much more a combination of Branding, being able to listen to the market and reconnecting with Clients and Partners of ours. 3. ICP Our ideal customer profile (Founders of Series A startups) are not hanging out here or at least did not visit our stand.????♂? 4. Prep Our preparation needs to improve! We did not invest enough in getting to know the participants up front to have more targeted meetings. Our friends at Peakora did that much better! 5. Visibility Not having a speech or break-out session (for the first time) hurts our effectiveness. We obviously had less interactions and visibility. Something to change for next year again. 6. Location Location is key! We made sure to have a location that most people would walk past. Like in real estate: location, location, location ?? And the list goes on and on! Will we be there again next year with a Holycode? stand? Yes, absolutely. Will we do better than this year? Yes, absolutely. How was the event for you? What are your learnings? ?? As a founder, your business is your baby. So what does “growing up” look like? ?????? Michael E Gerber describes the move into adolescence as: “…the point in the life of your business when you decide to get some help.” Great, completely agree. But what help? ??♂? There are so many options. Where do you start? At foundercentre (previously Time2Fund) we’ve done things like joining communities such as Startup 2 Standup and attending events like Rebel Meetups. Both of these have been invaluable in increasing our knowledge and network. We wouldn't be where we are without them. QUESTION: What partnerships have you made to instil confidence in this early growth phase? ?? Whether you’re in the process or you’ve been there and done it, drop a comment I’d love to hear your insights. #foundercentre
