Day 3/66 of building Rou Nutrition. I've heard this quote that stuck with me:?courage is having the fear and doing it anyway. The idea of Rou was born months ago. But, like with every other business idea I had, I kept thinking it's not good enough for way too long. Certain events in my life led me to a critical moment when I decided to go for it. I will never be 100% ready. Am I lost? For sure. But I believe I can make it work. Doing SOMETHING every day brings me one step closer to achieving my ultimate goal. I am scared I won't make the first sale. I am scared I will put money into it and there won't be traction. This and next week, I'm brainstorming ideas to test the market, strategizing ways to get people talking about Rou, and making the brand memorable and different from what's already out there. This morning, I found a journal entry from the week we invented the bitewell #FoodHealthScore back in 2021. Invented is maybe a strong word - it was more "we stumbled upon it after lots of conversations with users who are confused as hell about nutrition." Here's the entry: "We've talked to so many people who are just baffled by a nutrition facts panel. Macro nutrients, micro nutrients, ingredients - it's all too complicated. You need a PhD to understand this stuff! But what if you didn't? What if there was just 1 number that you could look at to understand a nutrition facts panel? Not a calorie - that's a bad metric for health. Something else - something that gives you a holistic thumbs up/thumbs down on a food's fit to your health needs.
