The Board of Commissioners recognized Tim Allen for his service as Assistant Director of Engineering following his announcement of retirement. Allen has served as Assistant Director of Engineering since 1995. During his 29 years of service, Allen has opened a new recycling center on Old Atlanta Road, developed many policies and ordinances, and managed transportation improvement projects in SPLOST programs 3 through 8. Thank you, Tim, for your commitment to providing the safest roads for Forsyth County residents. Best wishes!

To enhance the visual appeal of parks and facilities, Forsyth County Parks & Recreation applied for a grant earlier this year from the Forsyth County Arts Alliance to install three murals, one at Central Park and two along the Big Creek Greenway. The first mural is located at Central Park Recreation Center and was painted by local artist Lindsey Engbrecht. Forsyth County was recently designated a BioReady Bronze Community by non-profit Georgia Bio, affirming the County’s position as an emerging hub for the life sciences sector. To achieve a bronze-level designation, Forsyth County has set up a direct “pipeline” process that allows bio-related industries to connect with County and Chamber staff for future growth opportunities. Capable staff, robust water & sewer system, and biotech-friendly zoning and permitting procedures have made the community an attractive place for the growing biotech industry to thrive.
