CCT and Mood Setting Generated a simple CCT comparison for a client. Center image shows the existing lighting past it's light loss margin which is evident in the blue shade instead of the original cold white. I proposed a warmer CCT, either 3000K or 4000K, for the cove with higher lumen output which can eliminate the use of additional downlights, yielding a much cleaner ceiling. Correlated color temperature plays a very vital role into effective lighting. Specific CCT can have various effects on the observer and the surroundings; Whether going for a warm CCT to induce a calming mood or opting for a colder CCT for a more lively ambiance. What's more is that there is a specific CCT that is impercetible to wildlife, thereby enabling us to illuminate an outdoor environment without disturbing the natural habitat.
