I've seen too many loyal and talented employees Get overlooked, dismissed, and ignored. They stay and consistently over-deliver, Doing the work of those who aren't performing, While continuing to get paid less than external hires who join And make more :'( They're told to be patient and wait their turn for a promotion, But it never comes. When we push our most loyal and talented employees To the point where they no longer care, We have to ask ourselves: who will be left on our teams? I'm here to tell you that it's time to start valuing your loyal and talented employees. ? Pay them what they're worth. ? Recognize and reward their hard work. ? Make sure they feel valued and respected. ? Give them opportunities to grow and develop. When you invest in your loyal and talented employees, You're investing in the future of your company. #InvestInLoyalty #ValuingEmployees #FemaleLeadership

Here are my top 5 learnings from working in Germany ????????: - With a 3-month notice period, employees are safeguarded from abrupt terminations. - Companies face significant challenges in dismissing employees if they fail to demonstrate job irrelevance. - In large companies, the works council is there to support YOU, similar to how HR assists the company. - Contrary to common perceptions, Germans are not as rigid; it simply takes time to establish mutual understanding. - If you get fired, you can see your taxes returning to you in the form of unemployment benefits. These will help you while you find a new job. What other insights can you share from your experiences working in Germany?

I once worked at a place about to close its doors for good, here’s what I learned. It wasn’t until I was in deep that I found out how bad it was. Salaries were withheld from those who depended on it, and some even coerced into resigning. Quite literally, “You can’t leave this room until you sign.” The little budget we had was spent on externals, who ended up taking credit for my team’s work. Some stayed for the promise of wealth and glory, others focused on politics. I wanted resolve. So despite the mess, my team and I sought solutions – one last stand. We were a small, motley crew, but our assorted skills compounded. And we gave it everything we had. Interestingly, the shackles became fuel for fire. We kept the company afloat – heck, we even celebrated Xmas. But it wouldn’t have worked had we not been united, versatile, and upheld our moral compass. The crucial takeaway: ?? Always, ALWAYS invest in the team that has your back. ESPECIALLY when the lights dim. I should’ve seen the flags when words like “passion” and “family” were thrown around. But hey, I was able to leave with a clear and victorious conscience. The result, btw? Sales tripled. ???? #LessonsLearned #ToxicWorkEnvironment #InvestInPeople

?? Why Hiring a 67-Year-Old Veteran Was Our Best Decision This Year?? Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming a new member to our team—a 67-year-old veteran. Why did we choose him? Simply put, he was the best candidate for the job. This decision wasn’t made lightly or influenced by his age. Instead, it clearly reflected our commitment to eradicating age bias and focusing solely on capability and fit. In our hiring process, we ensured that all candidates were evaluated based on rigorous skill assessments, completely blind to their age. This veteran excelled in these technical assessments and topped the charts in our soft skills testing. His experience?and an evident eagerness to continue contributing set him apart. ?? This outcome prompts an essential question: Would this have been possible if we had considered age from the start? It's a powerful reminder of the biases that can cloud judgment and restrict opportunities. ??According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of individuals aged 75 and older in the workforce is projected to grow by 96.5% by 2030. This isn’t just a statistic; it indicates a shift in our societal and economic landscape. As employers, it’s time to rethink how we hire. We must remove age from the equation and focus on what really contributes to our companies' success: skill, experience, and the drive to perform. Let today be a call to action for all of us in the hiring sphere. Let’s lead the change and make age a number, not a barrier. #Veterans #Agebias #HR #Recruiting #Leadership #HireVeterans #WorkforceDiversity ??

At Marsden, our experienced private practice team is still somewhat surprised as to what lawyers are (often completely out of blue) offered when they hand their notice in. We’ve seen: ? Guaranteed bonuses, often in the form of “golden handcuffs” ? Sudden opportunities for overseas secondments ? A change in title/promotion (occasionally to immediate partnership) ? Encouragement (or perhaps pressure) to stay, and flattery, often from local or global managing partners – even if you are at the junior level ? A point-blank denial/refusal to accept the resignation ? The breaking of supposed salary bandings, and matching highly competitive offers (often in the form of having to sign an NDA) ?? Even if you turn down a counter offer, firms don’t aways take no for an answer. Many will persist at trying to pull you back, sometimes even throughout the entirety of your notice period. It is therefore always worth remembering what your motivation was behind the decision to move, and to not succumb to the flattery of last-minute promises…as sometimes these are not kept. Resolving Unexpected Hiring Challenges For Accounting & Finance Leaders In The Houston Market By Quickly Providing Interim & Long Term Candidate Solutions
GREAT TENURE is not always the first thing you think of when you hear about a recruiter, so we are extra proud of our #retention track record at TG! Why is that important to you as #finance, #accounting, and #IT professional? The longer a recruiter has been at one firm, the more successful they are in creating long-term relationships with candidates (i.e., placing them more than once throughout their career). This becomes especially vital when a job loss comes unexpectedly. The better your recruiter knows you, the harder they will fight to open new doors on your behalf. ?? They also have in-depth knowledge of the companies and #hiring managers they serve. They can share the history of different roles within the organization and explain the reason for the movement and changes over time. This comes in very handy when trying to decide whether to take a leap or not! I am honored to work with all the people having anniversaries this month! If you haven't worked with any of them, YOU SHOULD! ?? #recruitertenurematters #hireright
We hope everyone survived the storm! We still have some without power on our team. ?? Looking for things to celebrate is even more important when unexpected trials happen. And this month TG has a lot of them! Please send good vibes to all of the people having work anniversaries! Angela Godfrey was the first person hired and has been rocking perm #accounting placements for 16 years! Hailey Leahy is celebrating six years and is also on the perm team. She recently got engaged, so she has lots to celebrate these days! ? Larry Frishberg has placed many happy people in #IT jobs over the past three years. He also got married this last year! Branson Long Took the leap a year ago and joined our #contract accounting team on the client development side. His new clients love him already! Luke Junkunc Started the same day as Branson and brought all of his IT knowledge and sense of humor, making hiring more fun for the managers he helps. #greattenure #culturematters
