October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. ?????? Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed every October, plays a vital role in educating the public about breast cancer, its risk factors, and the importance of early detection. This annual campaign encourages individuals to get screened and promotes research funding to improve treatment options. While there has been lots to celebrate in regards to the remarkable progress that has been made against breast cancer, it is still true that 1 in 8 women in Canada are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. For the month of October, your generous donation will be matched to make twice the impact in transforming the future of breast cancer for the nearly 29,000 people in Canada estimated to be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022. https://lnkd.in/d6Qyfj58 #octoberisbreastcancerawarenessmonth #breastcancer #breastcancerawareness Susan Tan Senior Protection " Having cancer does make you try to be better at everything you do and enjoy every moment. I don't mind sharing I had my first mammogram recently, timely as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I had many questions beforehand, but it was surprisingly simple and painless, although uncomfortable for a few short seconds and took less than 15 minutes. Research is key to better breast cancer detection and treatment lies in research. So, for each pack of select consumables bought this October, Cytiva will donate $1 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. If you need that big consumable order, now is the time to take advantage and help deliver more breast cancer breakthroughs. https://cytiva.link/sbiek

One thing women over 40 should do is learn more about breast cancer. There are resources available at https://lnkd.in/ePzK9bv7. One of the reasons I'm doing Fabover40 is to raise both funds and awareness about the National Breast Cancer Foundation. https://lnkd.in/e3g3YxrC

As many of you know, Alex and I participate in Cycle for Survival (this is my team's 5th year!!) every year to help raise money for rare cancer research for MSK. Thank you to everyone who has donated in past years! This year is a particularly important ride for us and my team as we have?dedicated this ride to our teammate and best friend, Haley Palese, who was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer last year. She is a fighter. We are so proud of her. She battles through her treatments with candor and grace. The road will be long but her prognosis is positive. She will be riding with us on March 10th! Please donate to my fundraising page?below Here are three reasons why this is an important cause: 1. Rare cancer research is underfunded, leaving people fighting these cancers with few options — sometimes none.?Because of the generosity of people like you, Cycle for Survival is changing that. 2. 100% of your gift (yes, every dollar!) will fund research led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to advance new and better treatments.?All funds will be allocated within six months of the events. Cycle for Survival will share what was funded and continue to keep us updated on progress. 3. Discoveries will benefit cancer patients everywhere.?Memorial Sloan Kettering treats over 400 subtypes of cancer each year and collaborates with institutions around the world. Many cancers are considered rare — lymphoma, thyroid, ovarian, brain, pancreatic, all pediatric cancers, and others — and together we can give doctors the resources they need to beat them.

One week to go until Luton's Walk of Hope 2024 in Luton's Wardown Park. Starts 1.30pm this Saturday 28th September. Brian cancer is the biggest killer of children and adults under the age of 40. It kills more children than leukaemia, more women under 35 than breast cancer and more men under 40 than prostate cancer. Yet compared to other cancers it is woefully under invested receiving only 1 % of the cancer research budget. More needs to be done to improve treatments that haven't changed in decades. Families will continue to receive the devastating prognosis of a 0% survival rate if we don't receive more investment. Monies raised at Luton's Walk of Hope helps fund research into Glioblastoma brain cancer. This is the most aggressive and deadly form of brain cancer. So far the previous events have raised in the region of £55,000 for Brain Tumour Research. Please help by joining us and supporting the fight against brain cancer. https://lnkd.in/eRUPP8hg For you Amani Yasmin Stannard Brain Tumour Research
