Drone deliveries significantly cut down on carbon emissions and open up new opportunities for zero-waste kitchens that aren’t possible when relying on traditional delivery methods.

Bristow’s latest annual Sustainability Report makes for interesting reading, reflecting its unique position as the only publicly-listed rotorcraft operator of this scale in the energy sector. The positive news is that the company achieved an 8% reduction in Scope 1 GHG emissions between 2022 and 2023. Although in small part this was due to lower flying hours, the report also notes the “phasing out of older, legacy airframes”, with seven such transactions having occurred over the last year. These changes are happening at a time when?Bristow is also making leading moves in the advanced air mobility (AAM) sector. The company estimates that AAM could reduce direct operating costs by up to 70% on certain missions, alongside significant emissions savings. Taking a pragmatic approach to AAM, Bristow plans to implement solutions step by step, starting with middle-mile logistics and time-sensitive cargo movements. The journey in trying to understand the label "green" while working hard towards achieving net zero is quite interesting to me. I think it is as simple as "We want to revive the world to where there is nothing else but nature". The most important part of our nature is of course the forest. Right? Hence, deforestation will not be considered "green". We need forests to consume carbon dioxide and help the world live in harmony between the consumption of oxygen and the release of carbon dioxide. I again mean it as "natural" relationships between the human's need to breathe the cleanest and the purest air possible and nature's need to consume any emissions from humankind such as from the moment of human existence in this world. From the days when Adam and Eve arrived in this world. That is the most ideal "green" world we want to live in I guess, and if I understand correctly, Green Activists want us to live like in the Game of Thrones fantasy or Medieval era where we could ride horses to move around and sail with wind-powered ships like in the era of Pirates of the Caribbean. That is the true essence of the Green World we are now chasing together to achieve by 2050. No? But of course, we cannot go back to the era when we could not watch movies on Netflix, play mobile games, take air flights, or even put our foot on the surface of the moon again. We want to go forward. We want a better life. More sophisticated. Possibly, we want to live on Mars. Right? So, we have to check, how many hectares of forests are left for us to breathe. How much clean water is left? How about, "How fast the population will grow by 2050?" to understand the situation we might be facing at the moment? How about we just simply drop off all of our gadgets and start learning how to ride a horse? That probably can give you a bit of a relief. Becoming green is not that difficult actually. What makes everything difficult is greed and our inability to be united as humankind. We continue to have concerns over profitability, costs and the how. Technology providers are taking this opportunity to make more money. They are probably inventing to make more profits, and not trying to achieve net zero. Maybe, I do not know. Elsewhere, wars erupt and create even greater problems than climate change. It is because, wars kill humans instantly, but climate change has a similar effect at a much slower pace but could be devastating in the longer run. At this rate, (as if) becoming greener remains an important agenda, but to me, what should be more important to humankind is to be united in the efforts towards peace and humanity. That can give us real hope. I mean, we cannot just ignore hunger and the death of children if we want to achieve Green right? I mean, really?
