???? Jet Market Monday –?Cessna CJ4
?
This CJ has 1 major difference!
?
For the last 9 weeks I’ve written about the evolution of the Citation Jet.
?
From the original Citation Jet in 1991 to the CJ1s, CJ2s, CJ3s and now finally the last and largest iteration, the CJ4! aka the Model 525C.
?
Through the models, the iterations have been predictable - longer cabin, further range, more power, upgraded avionics.
?
This design iteration is different. The CJ4, unlike the others before it, has a swept wing.
?
The leading of edge of swept wings are angled backwards from root to tip. Better aerodynamics, Reduced drag. Improved efficiency.
?
This is also a tell-tale feature if you see one flying overhead (a difficult game I love playing). If it’s a straight wing, then you know it’s not a CJ4. These tiny clues get you ahead in this game, even if you're only playing against yourself. ??
?
The CJ4 is 26” longer than the CJ3, and 118" longer than the CJ. Max capacity is 8 passengers + 2 crew.
?
It does almost 2000nm with 4 pax, the perfect range if you live in middle America.
?
Want to buy a CJ4 right now? You’ve got 22 out of the 336 in service to choose from.
?
11 have sold in the last six months.
?
Next week we’re looking at the CJ4 Gen2, then it’s goodbye CJs and hello some heavy metal!
