We lost my sister to cancer when she was 30, and while I think of her and miss her daily, I can only begin to imagine what it must be like for my mother to have lost a daughter. Grief after a big loss in a family impacts every family member differently. I was so moved by the blog post that my colleague Ally Linfoot wrote about supporting the grieving of children who have lost a parent. Her account of how she supported her three children after the loss of their father while doing her best to support herself is vulnerable, profound, and full of that mix of deep sadness and heart that accompanies loss. It's a beautiful read. https://lnkd.in/gzjT47fn
This is powerful and beautiful...thank you for sharing!
Hello Kim Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece. My son, Matthew, and I lost his mother last summer, and these thoughts are very timely. I hope you are doing great!

2 个月Kim, thank you for sharing this. I marvel at the resilience I read in so many parts of that piece...how triumphant we all must be as we navigate the complexities of our lives as parents...hers especially through this kind of loss. Threaded through her vulnerability and balance in prioritizing her children is something so self-built and beautiful. And hamburger helper and canned green beans! (sidenote: I miss you and would love to catch up!)
