An amazing day at Severn Trent's Spernal STW today! Thanks to Peter Vale for showing the AtkinsRéalis team of Richard Lancaster, Ben Luqmani, Guto Pari, Andrew Thompson and myself around the R2IC (Resource Recovery and Innovation Centre). It is inspiring to see a facility like this that is taking action on #resourcerecovery through this test-bed environment, moving really exciting technologies from early development through demonstration scale and beyond. A real example of #innovation in action and the art of the possible on display. The water industry and the future of sustainable wastewater processing is certainly better for the existence of the R2IC, and more examples of this across the globe would go a huge way towards decarbonising the industry and generating valuable products from waste. #waterindustry #sustainability
