A delegation of NITI recently attended an insightful panel discussion organized by the Mobius Foundation on the topic "Climate Liability, Justice, and Jurisprudence.". The session explored the increasing environmental, social, and legal challenges posed by climate-changing events and delved into the accountability and responsibility regarding climate change that each one of us holds. The event commenced with a welcome address delivered by Ms. Jessica Gill which was followed by the inaugural address delivered on behalf of Mr. Pradip Burman, founder of Mobius Foundation. HMJ Hima Kohli, the Chief Guest of the event, delivered the keynote address, emphasising the importance of the judiciary's leadership in climate advocacy. The panel featured distinguished speakers such as Mr. CHANDRA BHUSHAN, Mr. Praveen Garg, Mr. Sanjay Upadhyay, and Dr. Afroz Ahmad. The chat was moderated by Jatinder Jay Cheema, wherein various issues, such as the crucial importance of wetlands, ponds, and lakes as carbon sinks and the impact of an ever-increasing population on climate, among many others, were discussed and pondered. We deeply admire this initiative undertaken by Mobius and express heartfelt gratitude for this enlightening opportunity.
