A normal day starts with processing reports that are due or could have been triggered by client activity as well as reviewing client disbursement requests. Most days include reconciling bank accounts, preparing required reports, and sending out client disbursement, with a fair amount of client communications mixed in. Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself. A: I share a birthday with my all-time favorite baseball player, Frank Thomas. Q: What do you wish our clients knew about what you do? A: Much like our clients, PASS has specialists that handle different aspects of client work (compliance, receipts, and most importantly IT) so as much as I want to answer all inquiries, some are outside of my domain, and will take me some time to get an answer. Q: What do you love about your job? A: The focus is not the same from day-to-day, so there is less opportunity to fall into a “rut”.

I've talked to a lot of credit union fraud leaders this year, and trust me, this isn't because they're not trying. Outdated ideas from upper management thinking fraud prevention=more member friction, lack of real-time data, member credentials easier to buy than ever, AI-enhanced fraudsters turning the member against the CU in romance and pig-butchering schemes, manual reviews piling up on understaffed (and underappreciated) fraud teams combine to create this stat. Fraud as a cost of doing business is not sustainable, and something's gonna give.
