Attending the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix last weekend was an electrifying experience, made even more special by witnessing Lando Norris claim his first victory! Reflecting on his journey after the race, I couldn't help but appreciate the sheer dedication and perseverance he exemplifies.?While racing amongst the best drivers in the world is a life achievement?in itself, Norris endured 110 Grand Prixs racing at over 150mph without "success" measured in a 1st place podium. In a world where patience is often in short supply, and self-criticism is all too common, Norris's journey serves as a reminder of the power of perseverance and taking life one step at a time. He didn't rush his "success"; instead, he diligently worked for 5 years at the highest level toward his dreams, overcoming each obstacle?along the way. Resilience. It?is a reminder to?us all that greatness is not achieved overnight but through persistent effort and unwavering belief in oneself. Here's to Lando Norris?-?a shining example of what can be accomplished when passion meets perseverance.?

?? Sorry Williams Since the beginning of F1 in 1950, there have been 125 Constructor Teams, all contributing to its excitement and glamour. Amalgamations and name changes have made up the rich history. Not all in a positive way; nonetheless, they are contributors to the beautiful story of Formula One. One of my readers, James Babcock, kindly reminded me that I had omitted to include Williams in my recent article about the most influential teams in F1. He is correct; Williams was a force to reckon with in the 80s and 90s. Winning numerous championships and having drivers the likes of Damon Hill, Nigel Mansell, Nelson Piquet, Alain Prost, Jacques Villeneuve and Ayrton Senna, to name but a few. They won Nine Constructor’s Championships and Seven Driver’s Championships. Williams was formed in 1997 by Sir Frank Williams and Sir Patrick Head with the most excellent intentions and ambitions. Whilst I am in no way qualified to provide empirical facts, there are a number of other teams that, in my humble opinion, deserve a mention. Namely, Alfa Romeo, Benetton, Caterham, Cooper, Force India, March, Matra, and Renault impacted F1 with innovation, imagination and striking results. Currently, we are experiencing distractions from the racing with scandals and rumours. Of course, F1 has always been a hotbed for malicious gossip. Some of the sometimes outrageous behaviour and smear campaigns may provide future exciting research. Watch this space.

Sunday’s #ItalianGP in Monza gave us an unexpected winner (but boy was it nice to see Charles LeClerc being showerd in love by the tifosi!), and it also confirmed that Red Bull Racing have a challenge ahead of them. Max Verstappen was not a happy camper, which was clearly visible in his post-race interview. When you are the dominant force and you stop winning, it can have a massive impact on team dynamics. Not just in F1, but in any organization or team. People get used to winning quite quickly, and the more you win, the bigger the confusion when it suddenly ends. When people expect to win but don't, the negative impact is much bigger than the positive impact when people don't expect to win, but do. So what can you do, from a high performance perspective, to keep your team engaged and productive when things don't go the way you want them to? ?????????? ???? ????????????????, ?????? ??????????????. When things don't go as planned, high performing teams pivot. It’s not about pursuing perfection but embracing flexibility. Progress over perfection at all times! ?????????????????? ?? ???????????? ??????????????. Instead of being overwhelmed by the setback, your team should focus on continuous learning. In Formula 1, every update that "didn’t work" is an opportunity to gather data, refine strategies, and come back stronger. This is no different in business. Every decision that fails, is an opportunity for growth. Growth is fueled by feedback, even when it's not what you expected. ???????? ?????????????????? ?????????? ????????????????. Setbacks are tests of mental toughness. For Red Bull Racing, maintaining confidence is key. It will be important to remind themselves of their achievements, and also remain committed to the hard work ahead.
