The Drop 2024, what a conference ???? I met so many great people, had lots of thoughtful conversations and experienced a community of founders and VC’s alike who are on the same mission to a cleaner planet through innovation and technology. ?? It was great to represent GRYD and share our recent successes and forward challenges. One of the things that stood out is the issue of unlocking capital for deployment of technologies solving climate challenges at scale. ?? Funding the development of cutting edge technologies is one thing but if we can’t apply them at scale then what is it for? Traditional financing methods are tricky for innovative new solutions because of ‘first project’ risk. The climate capital ripple brought to light many alternative financing options making it easier for companies like ours to scale quicker and in turn make significant impact. Thanks to the organisers, Pale blue dot and Domino Studio and thanks to Hampus Jakobsson for the recommendation to attend. Looking forward to next years Drop ??

Europe is the strongest carbon market in the world. The only way we can keep this edge is by speed of execution. 3?? Benjamin's advice to early-stage founders is to find a role model in your field 1-2 years ahead. Let them show you the ropes and skip some of the mistakes. 4?? Do things that don't scale and focus on delivering on what your customer needs right now. Validate above all else. 5?? If you want to fundraise, first ask your prospective investor for advice. Team Choir Corp has stood by our thesis that climate, energy and water tech needs to be software led, hardware supported and asset backed. It has been interesting watching Fortune 500 and VCs finally understand this and realize the extreme need for all aspects of this segment to be driven by data and not emotion. We certainly could be entering a climate tech winter, alongside an AI one. Firms over-funded with no real recurring revenue are in trouble. Startups that claim AI but are decades old with no real revenue are in deep trouble. Companies with a focus on impact but delivering no impact are less than desirable. We must be pragmatic. We must give high revenue returns to survive and we must ensure climate tech is not just for the elite, but for the 98%. Congrats on a great qtr so far Team Choir! Stand by your mission and values, create wealth and save the world.
