If you or another veteran needs to file a VA claim and plans to attend our workshop on May 1, 2024, call 1-800-827-1000 to submit an Intent to File (ITF). An intent to file sets a potential start date (or effective date) for your benefits. If you notify the VA of your intent to file, you may be able to get retroactive payments (payments for the time between when you submitted your intent to file and when we approved your claim). ?? Tuesday's Tip of the Day ?? ?? Last week I talked about how an Intent to File (ITF) is important. This week I wanted to share what you should do before that ITF expires in the next 365 days. Our goal is always to advise and assist you to do the best claim possible. ?? The biggest issue we see when Veterans come to file a claim is that they are not prepared. We hold outreaches and workshops throughout the year to give Veterans the opportunity to talk one-on-one with an accredited VSO. You really do not see these as often as you would like , so when you do spread the word to those in need of support. ?? We have a workshop at our Wayland University location on May 1st, so let Calvin Henry MBA, MIOP know you or another Veteran are coming and then call the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at 1-800-827-1000 to get that ITF.
