While the talks were incredible, it wasn't just the cutting-edge demos and "this" framework or "that" framework that makes these events great, it's the people. From FINALLY getting to meet a long time collaborator and friend, John Capobianco in person, getting to meet and connect with newer industry superstars like Alexis Bertholf, connecting with new members of my team, and launching Alkira, Inc. The ???????????? ???????? ???????????????????? is the annual virtual event exclusively for our Axians technical community spread across 37 countries worldwide! ?? It’s an online event made possible by and for our tech community. Being a decentralized organization, events like these provide our local tech communities the opportunity to stay connected among their peers globally. This year was the 5th edition of the #ATC and the theme was ?????????? ????, ?????????? ???? – which emphasized learning from peers to solidify one’s tech skills, and to acquire new skills outside one’s usual domain. In essence, it’s all about staying up to date with the latest and must-have tech skills. The air is buzzing with innovation at Cisco’s 2024 Hackathon! For our 8th hackathon, 1,800 engineers came together across the world to develop solutions in networking, AI, and emerging technologies. This event highlights our ongoing commitment to innovation and strengthens our global community of engineers to push the boundaries of technology.?? Some of my reflections:?? ? - Great ideas can come from anywhere. 20% of ideas from these hackathons end up being shipped to customers, funded for more research, or even taken directly to showcase at conferences. ?? - A little competition can cultivate a culture of openness and collaboration as participants work towards a unified goal.? - It’s easy to get stuck in a day-to-day routine, but events like these unleash stored-up creativity.? ? Seven million euros available for research on digital identities and digital trust. NWO has opened the KIC call ‘Digital Identities - A Foundation for Trust in the Digital World’. This call focuses on increasing digital trust with digital identities for individuals, legal entities and objects. Researchers can submit interdisciplinary initiatives and applications formulated in partnership with researchers from other disciplines and relevant organisations in society, including businesses.
