***JOB VACANCY*** We are looking to recruit an Estimator with a structural steelwork background. The Role As an Estimator you will be responsible for preparing competitive tenders and estimates for a range of building types and sectors. In doing this you will consider different factors like quality assurance, materials, transportation, fabrication, and labour costs to name just a few. You will be responsible for pricing all activities, document submission and meeting with clients, and monitoring the progress. You will work closely with other departments including design, construction and contracts to provide the client with the most cost-effective tender information. Part of this will also involve preparing and delivering presentations to prospective customers. Main Duties and Responsibilities ·????????Responsible for researching the costs of materials, transportation, labour, and equipment. ·????????Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors, while keeping an up-to-date database of cost information on products, vendors, and subcontractors. ·????????Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame ·????????Assessing cost-effectiveness and identifying potential financial risks associated with projects ·????????Preparing and submitting detailed quotations and cost breakdowns for proposed work. ·????????Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting the activities of buyers ·????????Monitoring costs throughout different project stages to ensure adherence to the estimated budget, while adapting estimates and recommendations based on project scope changes and updates ·????????Staying updated with the market trends, material costs and industry standards ·????????Collaborating closely with the stakeholders to ensure accurate project specifications and resolve any issues. Skills and qualifications Skills ·????????Attention to Detail, ensuring precise measurements and calculations. ·????????Excellent ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. ·????????Strong understanding of the residential construction process ·????????Analytical skills, capable of performing detailed analysis to support accurate estimations. ·????????Resilience with an ability to take criticism constructively and improve. ·????????Capable of working under pressure to meet set goals, budgets, and deadlines. ·????????Skilled in using word processing, spreadsheet, and estimating software. ·????????Ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during the estimation process. ·????????Organizational Skills and Stakeholder Management Qualifications: ·????????Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, a preference. ·????????Experience: Proven experience in the structural steel industry, with a strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, a preference Please email your CV to [email protected] #jobvacancy #jobs
