Maybe because male hiring managers are more concerned about if the heterosexual woman is going to get pregnant or have kids and family she must attend to that would make her underperform compared to her male counterpart because men are not expected to play the same role. The only way to bridge wage gap is to mandate paternity leaves and equalize childcare and domestic responsibilities so that hiring managers can set aside their biases and think more equitably.

Once a significant disparity, recent studies suggest a narrowing wage gap between lesbian and heterosexual women. While lesbians historically out-earned their straight counterparts, factors like increased workplace equality and evolving societal norms may be contributing to this shift. However, challenges like discrimination and bias persist, highlighting the need for continued advocacy and policy changes to ensure equitable opportunities for all.

The real mystery here isn’t why lesbians make more money, but why anyone would even care.
