BALLISTIC BALLERS CIC is another incredible organisation we’re especially proud to spotlight this Black History Month, as they truly embody the theme of?Reclaiming Narratives. BALLISTIC BALLERS CIC empowers young Black boys across London to take control of their futures, bridging the gap between football and life skills to build confidence, resilience, and independence. BALLISTIC BALLERS CIC is redefining what it means to be successful both on and off the field. By combining football with critical life skills like money management and financial literacy, they are addressing a crucial gap that many young players face preparing for life beyond the game. Through their programmes, BALLISTIC BALLERS CIC enables young people not only to excel in football but to build resilience and independence that extends into every area of life. Their mission aligns beautifully with?Reclaiming Narratives,?a call to action for Black communities to seize ownership of our stories and take pride in our legacy. For too long, our histories have been told by others, often leaving out the richness and depth of our experiences. BALLISTIC BALLERS CIC is changing that by creating spaces where young people can envision their futures, connect with mentors, and cultivate their unique stories. As Black History Month draws to a close, let’s keep the momentum going. It may initially seem negative in the context of narcissism, but the term "black sheep" carries a unique strength. Often, these individuals possess the courage to question established norms and view situations from fresh, uncharted perspectives. While it can be incredibly challenging to stand out and challenge the status quo, these brave souls are often the catalysts for essential change and groundbreaking innovation. Think about it: by daring to be different, "black sheep" challenge groupthink and push boundaries. Their unique viewpoints and willingness to voice dissent can act as a safeguard against collective mistakes, steering the group toward wiser, more informed decisions. This kind of bravery isn't just about being contrary for the sake of it—it's about valuing progress over comfort, truth over conformity. Moreover, their readiness to take risks and explore the unconventional can pave the way for new ways of thinking, leading to advancements that others might have never considered. This perspective highlights the invaluable contributions of those who dare to break away from the crowd. Dissenting voices are vital to preserving critical thinking. Critical thinking protects against herd mentality. Herd mentality is fatal if it is pointing in the wrong direction. Support dissenting voices and critical thinkers if they are altruistic and prosocial in their underpinning drivers.

This is truth! The dominant economic paradigm is Win-Lose competition over money. It leaves immense wasted wealth on the table in the form of underutilized business capacity: college desks are empty more than they are full; grocery store aisles, full of groceries, are empty of customers more than they are full; restaurants, movie, theaters, shopping malls, auto dealerships… All empty more than they are full. We can do so much better! #RiseTogether
