?? The process on a third year of ANCHOR payments is about to begin ?? ANCHOR benefits go to both homeowners and renters ?? You may not have to do anything in order to receive your next payment The ANCHOR property tax relief program is part of New Jersey's budget once again. That means scores of Garden State residents can expect some extra cash by year's end. The New Jersey Department of the Treasury is expected to announce details in the coming weeks regarding the next round of the ANCHOR (Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters) benefit. In 2023, letters about ANCHOR started hitting mailboxes in the middle of August. How do I receive my ANCHOR payment? It's likely you won't have to do anything in order to receive a check or direct deposit for your next ANCHOR payment. As long as your mailing address and bank information are the same as the last time you received your benefit, you're good to go. But individuals who need to change key information will have to do so online before a certain date in order to receive their funds. That date is not yet known. The website will eventually be updated to accept changes for the next round. If this is your first year of eligibility, you should receive an application in the mail. Or you can apply online when the site for the next round of ANCHOR goes live. How much is my ANCHOR payment? This round covers the 2021 tax year. Renters and homeowners can be eligible for the payment. Folks who owned or rented a primary residence and brought in $250,000 or less for the year are eligible for ANCHOR benefits. Homeowners who were under the age of 65 and brought in $150,000 or less in gross income should receive $1,500. The payment goes down to $1,000 for 64-and-younger homeowners that brought in between $150,001 and $250,000. Homeowners who were at least 65 years old in 2020 are scheduled to receive $1,750, if their gross income was $150,000 or less. The payment is $1,250 for older residents who made between $150,001 and $250,000. The majority of renters will receive $450. Renters that are at least 65 years old and earn $150,000 or less per year will receive an additional $250. In 2023, payments started hitting bank accounts in the middle of October.

(“The Hideout Appeal”) before the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, one of Pennsylvania’s appellate courts. ? In The Hideout Appeal, the Commonwealth Court reversed the Wayne County Court of Common Please, Judge Meagher, and directed that Court to enter declaratory judgment “that The Association of Property Owners of The Hideout, Inc.’s bylaw amendment on short-term rentals is void and unenforceable.”? ? In interpreting The Hideout’s declaration of covenants, the Commonwealth Court also held that: ? the “single-family dwelling” restriction was a building restring and not a use restriction, in that the restriction only applied to the type of building, not the use of that building; The Hideout and its Board were not authorized to adopt the bylaw amendment restricting rentals as it conflicted with the declaration; in such a case, the declaration prevails. The Hideout’s long-standing regulation of rentals did not operate as a waiver by the plaintiffs to challenge the offending bylaw amendment because The Hideout’s declaration specifically contains a savings clause that prevents any statute of limitations from running when it concerns enforcement of the declaration itself.? Note:? Most, if not all, declarations of community associations have such a provision extending statutes of limitations. Notably, although repeatedly raised by counsel for The Hideout at all phases of this dispute, the Commonwealth Court did not even address The Slice of Life zoning case, further demonstrating its complete inapplicability to community association law. Chicago has more than 70,000 homeless with an additional 30,000+ of Asylum Seekers at risk of being homeless. Plus, Chicago has an affordable housing shortage of 120,000+ units with 200,000 experiencing housing costs burden. Illinois will need to create an affordable housing bond fund that automatically replenishes every year for Chicago to address this housing crisis. This could layer well with Mayor Johnson's proposed affordable housing bond program. I want downtown Chicago to be the best central core than any other city in the country filled with vibrancy, jobs, entertainment, and culture. This gambling facility contravenes our master plan…Northville Downs holds accountability for thinking it was okay to force itself onto our community without assessing overall residential sentiment–frankly business 101.” What’s happened in Plymouth Township is similar to what’s happening in many other Michigan communities–communities facing Manufacturing 4.0 megasite development, in particular. In Big Rapids, both Green Charter Township’s Supervisor and Big Rapids Township’s Supervisor dug in their heels in favor of Gotion, in spite of rising community opposition to the project. Unlike Heise, however, BRT and GCT’s supervisors never acknowledged that Gotion was operating in bad faith, steamrolling over their constituents until they were recalled last November–by a landslide. Likewise, Marshall’s City Council continues to defend corporate interests, black moneyed lobbying groups, and economic developers above the will of the people. Marshall residents have continued to protest the Ford CATL EV megasite twice each week–even throughout the winter. As more developers and local boards go over the heads of local residents to strike deals for large, inappropriate projects, more residents are mobilizing against this overreach.
