A combination of funding models is possible, the NHI is both a challenge and an opportunity- if we stop to learn, pilot and combine solutions! My biggest takeaway- fundamentally- NHI is a moral obligation. It requires strong leadership, ethical intention and a view of greater good!

??This just in?? Minister Budi G. Sadikin, Indonesia's ???? Minister of Health, announced 750 million USD for all aspects of TB work, including treatment and research. In every area of #tuberculosis work—from research to diagnosis, treatment to prevention—limited resources remain one of the greatest hurdles. Lack of funding, access to essential equipment, and infrastructure gaps hinder progress and limit our reach. To effectively combat TB, we need to address these resource limitations through sustainable funding models, public-private partnerships, and global collaboration. I am honored to deliver a call to action at a meeting organized by Africa CDC on Wednesday, 14 August. As we approach the UNGA 2024 High-Level Meeting on AMR, it is crucial to reflect on the progress and challenges in combating AMR in the WHO African Region. Every country in the WHO African Region has developed national action plans based on the Global Action Plan and One Health approach, emphasizing multisectoral governance and collaboration. Key milestones include the effective use of WHO's costing and budgeting tools, the establishment of national multisectoral coordination committees, and the collection of critical data through WHO platforms like GLASS and TrACSS. The upcoming UNGA meeting is a pivotal moment for Member States in the region to advocate for bold commitments to accelerate progress in the fight against AMR. Let us keep the political momentum going to ensure that the efforts of Member States are recognized and supported on the global stage. We at 3ie use a flexible, conversational approach to help our partners sketch and, usually iteratively, build out 'evidence + context' frameworks. We bring an "outsider's" perspective, engaging multiple different internal stakeholder groups, and offering up suggestions that may not be as easy or feasible for internal stakeholders to do for various reasons.
