When you partner with North Mechanical Contracting and Service, you’re teaming up with expert planners. The most important part of the planning process, in my opinion, is executing. What good is a detailed plan without action? This week was a major win for our team out at the IU Health Saxony jobsite in Fishers, hoisting 39 sections of air handlers up to a 5th floor mechanical penthouse in 4 days. With some of these units being stacked, and some sections weighing as much as 17,000 lbs, the odds were not in our favor to fit all the work into a single week. With the expert planning, as well as execution and field leadership by our foreman, Joe Baugh, this was made a reality. It was truly a team win, as we held multiple think tanks about the most efficient way to get these units into the space. Leaning on years of experience from our logistics, safety, fab, and field teams, this plan came to life, and all the sections are now sitting on their pads. More importantly, it was all done safely. I’m fortunate to have played a small role in this milestone, helping to facilitate some of the conversations and planning. Next, we’ll have a follow-up meeting to discuss lessons learned and takeaways so we can work to improve this process in the future, as well as celebrate the win.
