You’d never guess this new two-story, three-bedroom home in Gig Harbor, WA, is a milestone in sustainable residential construction. Part of a Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity development, the 1,500 SF home is Habitat for Humanity’s first zero-carbon home. Tapping into innovative building system materials such as insulated concrete forms (ICF), this project delivered in carbon neutrality and constructability. Pierce County nonprofit, Comprehensive Life Resources (CLR) has a clear and meaningful mission, making healthcare accessible. Designed to accommodate primary care, dental care, and behavioral health services under one roof, FA teamed with CLR to generate a program that puts care and wellbeing at the forefront. With programming that welcomes guests with natural light and open floor plans, to corridors that seamlessly flow between healthcare service areas, CLR's refreshed Hilltop location is a vital component of fulfilling its community-driven mission.

With autumn on the horizon, we can't help but think back on sweet summer moments. From a FA outing to the Tacoma Rainiers (doubled as an evening at the park AND checking out our studio's work) to the opening of The Puyallup Tribe of Indians new restaurant, Woven, our summer was one to remember!

From the epic spread of food (we had Frisko Freeze burgers y'all), to sharing space with our South Sound built environment community, we are so appreciative! We love seeing Bluebeard Coffee Roasters settle into their new roastery and café along South Tacoma Way! Three years in the making, Bluebeard’s new roasting facility converted a century-old furniture warehouse and showroom into an inspired and inviting space.? A favorite detail of ours – the hand-painted mural by Bluebeard barista, Natalie, which is a nod to the 1987 L12 roaster at their 6th Avenue location. Cheers to damn good coffee! ?
