We recently held an open house at our New Jersey facility, where team members had the chance to give their friends and family a tour. It was incredible to witness the pride they took in showcasing their work and the joy it brought to everyone involved. #Purpose #FencoProud

Juneteenth is a day to celebrate the freedom of all Americans and to reflect on the progress that has been made, as well as the work that still needs to be done to achieve racial justice. At Colorado CarShare, we are committed to creating a more equitable and just transportation system. We believe that everyone should have access to affordable and reliable transportation, regardless of race, income, or where they live. That's why we offer discounted rates to low-income residents and partner with community organizations to provide transportation to underserved communities. We also encourage our members to use their CarShare vehicles to support Black-owned businesses and community events. On Juneteenth, we invite you to join us in celebrating the freedom of all Americans and to recommit ourselves to working towards a more just and equitable society. #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #RacialJustice #TransportationEquity #protecttheearth #savemoney #colorado #carshare #carshareCO #coloradocarshare #explorecolorado #coloradolifestyle #coloradoliving #carsharing #electriccars #sustainabletransportation #hybrid #environment #sustainability

Partnerships between subcontractors and general contractors built on trust are crucial. Construction companies' DEI initiatives impact communities through local partnerships, listening, and creative volunteerism. As Janice Haughton of Turner stated, "Diversity is being invited, but inclusion is being asked to dance." Let's keep moving towards an empowered, equitable construction workforce serving all communities. ?? We were delighted to join the Nature Without Barriers event last week and celebrate over 2 years of being a part of the Access to Nature learning programme, facilitated by Barnwood Trust, sharing ideas and best practise from others working towards greater accessibility, inclusivity and diversity in outdoor spaces in Gloucestershire. ?? ? Faatimah Bham, our Community Rail Development Officer, facilitated a table talk, focused on accessible communication and shared how we’ve been applying practical tips we've learnt to two key resources: ? 1?? The Gloucestershire Black History Map This resource links significant Black History sites to railway stations and walking routes, encouraging active and sustainable travel. To make it more accessible, we: -Created black-and-white versions to support colour-blind users. -Used high-contrast colours and a minimum 13pt font for better readability. 2?? The Gloucester Wellbeing Walks Map This map promotes exploring urban nature spaces starting from Gloucester train station. To improve accessibility of the map, we: ?- Adjusted line patterns to make them easier to see. - Included distances and key landmarks - Tested the routes within the team to refine the information and usability. ?? One of the key points we shared was that small changes can make a big impact. Accessibility isn’t just about legal compliance; it’s about creating resources and spaces that are truly welcoming and inclusive. ? We also talked about the importance of supporting underrepresented groups in accessing outdoor spaces. For example, through our Black History walks and nature trips, we’ve engaged over 500 people from Black and Brown communities, creating safe, empowering experiences in spaces where they might not otherwise feel welcome, instilling them with the confidence to travel to nature spaces independently. ? ?? We left the event feeling inspired and motivated by the incredible conversations and ideas shared. Huge thanks to Barnwood Trust for bringing us all together and thank you to all the other organisations involved in the programme! We've found the stories they have to tell incredibly powerful. That’s why we started the video-storytelling project, Park and Recreation Stories. Through uplifting voices in the field we aim to highlight the power of parks, as well as significant events experienced by our members, partners and advocates. Bilston has a history of doing things its own way. Legacies of making, social organising and innovation have cultivated a unique local energy — not least the first UK town to index happiness. With new central government funding coming into the town over the next decade, residents must be empowered to draw on this legacy to seed new cultural growth in Bilston.?We’ve been working to produce a Cultural Infrastructure Micro-Plan to set a trajectory for culture rooted in local values.?We’ve worked with the?West Midlands Combined Authority?and?City of Wolverhampton Council – supported by collaborators?PRD?and?Stockdale?– and connected with local stakeholders who will take forwards opportunities. Current momentum to strengthen Bilston’s offer as a place for culture is strong and over £45 million is destined for Bilston across the next ten years. This micro-plan for Bilston’s cultural development recommends four priority projects. These projects align closely with Bilston’s cultural requirements and aim to leverage existing and emerging cultural initiatives, such as those led by the Gazebo Theatre, the new Urban Room, Bilston Market regeneration efforts, and the grassroots music scene. We recognise it is important to ensure opportunities for culture lock in Bilston’s values — the things like happiness, cohesion, and healthy communities that have always been important to people in this place. Understanding which town centre assets can play a role in this mission, and imagining how Bilston’s creative residents can activate them, will be key first steps in embedding culture in the town. Read more about how the Cultural Infrastructure Micro-Plan will do this: https://lnkd.in/eR2hzH2z #culture #creativity #westmidlands #bilston #towns #gazebotheatre #urbanroom
