Yesterday evening, I had the opportunity to attend the BLASTFEST Culture & Tech mixer and AI panel discussion at the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) in Seattle! I can’t even explain to you how refreshing, and liberating it was to just be in the building! The room was filled with dozens of young African-American tech professionals and I got to meet some amazing people! African-Americans definitely have a seat at the table and an opportunity to benefit from generative AI, and machine learning, through daily utilization (personal and business), development, and financial investment, that can positively change the course of our families legacy if we make the right decisions now. The three panelists, represented NVIDIA , Amazon , and Microsoft and gave great insight on all of the capabilities of AI as well as how important it is for our community to be beneficiaries of this next generation of technology. They made a comparison to the .com boom of the late 90s and urged us to educate ourselves on how to use and invest in this new technology, as well as discussed many of the different ways that our community can and should benefit even if we are not technology professionals. It’s so refreshing to see African-American excellence in this field. It’s truly privilege to be here in Seattle in essentially one of the most vital tech hubs of the USA. I look forward to connecting with more organizations like this in the Seattle area! Food for thought: When the world is majorly changed and consumed by this technology in the next 10 and 20 years, what side of the fence will you be on? When millionaires and billionaires are made off of the proper utilization of this technology, will you be in the number?

What an incredible journey the #AIHackLondon 2024 has been! This past weekend, Canary Wharf WeWork transformed into a melting pot of innovation, creativity and forward-thinking, thanks to the diverse talents that came together from across the globe. Our first-ever AI Hackathon was nothing short of extraordinary, with participants competing for a prize pool of over $41,500 in cash, tech gear, subscriptions, credits and exclusive merch. The collaboration and competition brought to life some of the most innovative solutions in AI, showcasing the potential of this rapidly evolving field. It was truly an enriching experience participating in the AI Hackathon by the Encode Club hosted at Canary Wharf with the Warwick AI Society team! This event provided me with the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of individuals from various universities, all sharing a profound enthusiasm for AI. I had the privilege of engaging with experts from prominent AI firms like Stability AI and Healthily, gaining valuable insights into the latest advancements in the field. A highlight of the event was a captivating discussion led by Harshit Mehta on leveraging MongoDB to enhance the efficiency of AI applications.
