“More companies die of indigestion than starvation.” - Dave Packard, Co-Founder of Hewlett Packard. According to McKinsey & Company, the average S&P 500 firm lasted 61 years in 1958. Now it's less than 18. They estimate three quarters of today’s S&P 500 is expected to vanish by 2027. These firms have access to capital most envy. They are not dying of starvation. They’re dying of indigestion. Power dynamics, organizational ambiguity, trust in teams, and each individual’s EQ all play a role. Work requiring collaboration has spiked 50% in the last decade. Everything valued in the modern economy requires people to thrive because of each other. Those who thrive in the next decade will future-proof their organizations with anti-fragile cultures that grow individual focus, trust within teams, organizations flooded with belonging, and leaders who use their influence to grow their follower’s importance. For those leaders, we’ve just launched our Organizational Health Check (link in the featured section of my profile). Answer the 20 questions and you’ll not only learn which of these domains you need to address - you’ll also learn which other domain may be the actual cause of the problem. #Culture #AntiFragile #Leadership

An interesting article about the now widespread application of co-leadership roles and some of the benefits that can be attained implementing this in organizations. "This structure is not just about having two heads in the leadership roles; it's about fostering a culture where collaboration, joint decision-making, and mutual respect are the norm rather than the exception” Grateful to co-lead with you Ryan Jones https://lnkd.in/gRDcwzbn

I've dedicated a good part of my work to guiding global leaders through a transformative journey that integrates timeless cultural and Earth-based wisdom into contemporary leadership and organizational practices. This approach isn't just about honoring the past; it's about harnessing its profound insights to shape a sustainable and prosperous future across multiple dimensions. Over the past three months, from speaking at conferences in California, London and Prague to facilitating immersive experiences with Original People's elders and cultural stewards, the resonance of this work has deepened significantly. In today's world, authentic leadership is a scarce but crucial asset. Many in positions of authority merely manage, driven by personal gain rather than a deeper sense of purpose. They overlook the urgent calls for transformation from our planet and fail to grasp the interconnectedness that binds us all. True leadership demands a profound connection with Earth's wisdom and a commitment to addressing global challenges through sustainable practices, empathy, and equity. It's a paradigm shift away from conventional metrics of success towards a holistic vision that serves the greater good and ensures a thriving future for generations to come. By guiding embodied servant leaders to tap into these ancient reservoirs of wisdom, I empower them with the foresight and resilience necessary to navigate uncertain times. This process not only enhances their leadership capabilities but also enables them to craft business models rooted in enduring values and adaptive strategies. It's about harnessing their unique gifts to foster creativity and beauty in the economy, ensuring their enterprises leave a legacy of meaningful impact for the future. If you resonate with this vision of leadership and are ready to embark on a journey of profound transformation and impact, I invite you to connect with me. Together, we can redefine success and lead our organizations towards a future where purpose, resilience, and sustainability are at the forefront of business and societal advancement. In togetherness, Ryan Image below snapped from the Inven Capital 'Soul of a Winner' conference in Prague. Thank you Petr Míkovec and the team for having me, it was a beautiful experience.

Leadership in the 21st Century An excellent blog post from Paul Polman (link below). I agree with his belief that the boardroom's responsibility extends beyond the company and investors to all stakeholders and society. But many boards, often dominated by older, white men, still focus narrowly on short-term returns. This creates a problem for CEOs needing support in a rapidly changing environment. In my experience in the hospitality sector, revamping our boards is crucial. We need diversity, business transformation skills, and sustainability expertise. Gender-balanced, diverse, and results-driven boards help us achieve significant growth and resilience in a highly competitive industry. Three “C’s” for Modern Leadership from Paul Polman: Composition: Diversify who’s in the room. Reflect society with a mix of gender, race, age, and backgrounds. Progress has been slow—let’s accelerate it. In my personal experience, having diverse boards is crucial. Our customers are primarily women, yet decisions are often made by predominantly male board members. This mismatch can lead to missed opportunities and perspectives. Competence: Ensure board members are informed about the big issues like AI, sustainability, and geopolitics. Continuous learning should be integral, not optional. Contribution: Focus the Board’s efforts on strategic discussions, not just compliance. Encourage tough conversations and link performance to compensation. In these meteoric times, proactive change is essential. Let’s build boards that not only navigate challenges but seize opportunities and thrive. #Leadership #Boardroom #Diversity #Sustainability #Transformation #FutureReady
