How do we prioritize our relationship with Christ? Ours is an age obsessed with methodology and technique. For this reason, we’re more inclined to read books or listen to podcasts about the Bible, prayer, and church than we are to actually read God’s word, pray daily, and serve in our local congregations. Precisely because we’re at a moment of spiritual crisis in our culture, however, we must go back to basics. In short, if we want to cultivate a vibrant relationship with our Savior, we must recover the time-tested practices that have served God’s people down the ages. We must read our Bibles and commit generous portions to memory. To those who object that memorization doesn’t come easily to them, call to mind the vast amounts of song lyrics, movie quotes, and other pop culture trivia that most of us carry around in our heads. We remember what we choose to dwell on. Sometimes that’s a sobering thought. The problem is often that our imaginations have been nourished more by the wider culture than by Christ, His word, and His people. For those of us who follow Christ, prayer must be as routine as brushing one’s teeth. If that statement runs the risk of trivializing something as profound as prayer, let’s also guard against the tendency to elevate our spiritual lives into irrelevance. If prayer is difficult, pray God’s word starting with the Psalms. In God’s word, we have all we need, whether it involves words of praise or lament. A spiritual playpen where the crying babies must be appeased! (Joseph Bianchi) In the twenty-first century, we are obsessed with self-satisfaction and getting our desires met. Hence, any teaching that invades our lifestyle and tells us we must alter or discard out old habits, is usually consigned to the junk pile. In so thinking and doing, the church has been transformed into a spiritual playpen where the crying babies must be appeased with what makes them feel good. The Evangelical world is abuzz with terms like "purpose driven church" or "seeker friendly church". What these terms really amount to is one thing: compromise. The goal of churches should not be to see how much like the world they can be, so as to make worldly people feel comfortable. Rather, the churches should be so unlike the world, so alien to the world, that the disillusioned unbeliever will be drawn to them. "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. ?For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? ?Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? ?What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? ?What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? ?What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."?"Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you."?"I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

#DAILY MANNASATURDAY FEBRUARY 03, 2024THE GREATEST EVENTKEY VERSE: “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen” (Revelation 1:7).TEXT: REVELATION 1:1-8Imagine for one moment that you are granted a glimpse of the future; would you not prepare adequately for it? That is what biblical prophecies are: a picture of the future. They are beyond science or any human reasoning, and the more the world tries to dispute them, the more they are fulfilled. The Revelation to John unveils the end-time programme for the world and its inhabitants. It reveals God’s plan to destroy Satan and his works and establish His righteous kingdom on the earth. The events of the end-time centre around Christ’s Second Coming. While preparing to send His message to the seven churches in Asia, the Lord Jesus Christ announced to John that all the prophecies He was about to outline were not only authenticated by Him and the Holy Spirit, but were actually from God, the Father. He introduced Himself as “the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth…” He then proclaimed the nature of His second coming, still re-emphasising His Lordship over all creatures and eternal existence. In this Second Coming, all eyes shall see Him in His unparalleled majesty and glory. There is no better time to remind humanity about Christ’s return than now. His Second Coming will be in two phases: first, at the rapture of the saints, and second, for His millennial reign with the saints in the world. Many people in the world do not believe in Christ’s Second Coming. To them, the promise of His return is a hoax.As believers, we must constantly prepare ourselves and others for this imminent greatest event of all time. Sinners must be warned of the danger of sin and believers must be warned against complacency as the day of Christ’s return draws near.THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every great event requires great preparation.THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: DEUTERONOMY 7-9https://dailymanna.app

Cast It Out If Jesus spent one-third of His ministry casting out demons, why do so many churches virtually ignore deliverance? By reading this book, I will understand the purpose behind casting out demonic entities and why all Christians are called to help set the captives free. For years, Baptist pastor Greg Locke believed deliverance ministry and supernatural signs and wonders were just hyped-up "charismaniac" nonsense. But then God removed his denominational lenses and showed him what the Bible actually says about the gifts of the Holy Spirit--and his life and ministry haven't been the same. Suddenly, people started getting healed in his services. Miracles and wonders abounded. And Locke was casting out demons in Sunday services that lasted until 2:30 the next morning. Today, the firebrand preacher is well-known for his popular documentary Come Out in Jesus' Name and teaches others how to help people get free of demonic oppression. In Cast It Out, the third book in his Spiritual Warfare Series, Locke testifies of what the Lord has done in his life and ministry and shares the biblical truth and inspired revelations God used to erase all his doubts about the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit. In what he considers his most important work yet, Locke addresses: What the Bible says about deliverance Whether Christians can be demonized Popular objections to deliverance ministry How Jesus dealt with demons Locke believes the church is on the cusp of the most important spiritual awakening in the history of Christianity and we must all be prepared to engage in what Jesus spent one-third of His ministry doing: casting out demons. In this book, he offers biblical answers to the most pressing deliverance questions and equips readers to help others find true freedom and healing in Christ. #BookRecommendation #GoodReads #Books #ReadingList #BookCommunity #BookLovers #Bookworm #NowReading #BookClub #Inspiration #Motivation #GrowthMindset #LifelongLearning #ThoughtProvoking #MustRead #BookOfTheDay #WeekendReads #PageTurner #TopPicks https://lnkd.in/gnuW7ubD
