Inc. Magazine put out their 2024 list of 250 female founders. Take a look including the criteria that they used to choose this list of most intriguing women. However, the list only includes women in the United States. So here is the challenge. Use the comments and list/tag women from all over the world who you think are intriguing women. Who should we follow? Who should we lift up? Who is doing interesting things (regardless of the recognition or notoriety)? They don't have to be famous. They just have to be important to you (and be intriguing). What a blessing last night turned out to be! ????????. The feedback has been phenomenal ??????????. I am grateful to Low Entropy Foundation, Vanessa Wideski and Ness Gale, for the invitation to deliver the keynote speech. I debated how vulnerable I wanted to be, how much of my story to share but then I remembered that, a speech without authentic stories is just words on paper. I am glad I laid it all bare, shared my journey and some of the strategies that have helped me. ? Drawing strength from our roots, acknowledging humble beginnings but not letting it hold back our future ? Preparing for the future we want - seeking knowledge, expertise and qualifications along the way ? Being resilient - not allowing the ‘low’ times to keep us down ? Surrounding ourselves with good people - mentors, sounding boards, community ? Praying for ‘Grace and Favour’ - seeking spirituality and the acknowledgment of a higher power Our panel conversation with our fabulous moderator Zahra Alani was deeply insightful and I learned so much from Sandra Song, Ph.D. Mary Ellen Schaafsma and Alyssa Barry. Sincere thanks to our indigenous leaders who attended, blessed us and shared with us ????. From them, we now know we are ‘Femtors’. My cup was filled, by just being in a room full of women, who are walking similar journies and striving for the same outcomes: ??Customized support for women (we are talking equity, not equality ?? ), ??Gender advantaged policies on childcare, parent care, business financing, pay equity, executive and board representation. ??More guidance, education and empowerment for women on finances, financial literacy, business sustainability etc Studies do indicate that empowerment of women will advance global GDP by at least 20% (World Bank). Financial Knowledge and Self-Belief: the two biggest obstacles I have seen women entrepreneurs face time and time again in their journey to sustainability. I am grateful to the Bank of Punjab for helping us overcome one of these through sessions aimed at building awareness of loan and grant schemes, demystifying banking terms, and de-coding application processes. Through this work, I am optimistic that our entrepreneurs will also face an increase in self-belief and motivation as the little voice saying "I can't do this" is proven wrong. #financialfreedom #womenentrepreneurs #womeninbusiness
