Could crowdsourcing revolutionize public health in Lebanon? At the recent innovative idea fair at Phoenicia University, I proposed EpiAlert, a crowdsourced disease surveillance app designed specifically for Lebanon. This app has the potential to leverage technology to improve public health outcomes. Traditional passive disease surveillance often struggles to keep pace with the rapidly evolving infectious diseases. This results in an incomplete picture of their actual spread, hindering timely and accurate outbreak detection. EpiAlert uses real-time, anonymous user-generated data on symptoms and location. This data, linked to the Ministry of Public Health’s Epidemiological Surveillance Unit, would be analyzed by advanced machine learning algorithms to detect outbreaks in a timely manner and inform public health responses. Ultimately, this innovative app empowers individuals to contribute to public health and ensures a healthier future for all. #Epidemiology #Surveillance #PublicHealth #AI #Innovation #Project
