For over 35 years, Sandy Zeroth has been a familiar face at M Health Fairview Northland Medical Center. She worked in various departments of the hospital, including appointment scheduling, registration in the emergency department, and physician staffing, where she made lifelong friends and learned a lot about herself while on the job. “Everyday was different,” she said, referring to her time in the emergency department. “You never knew what would walk through that door. It really taught me how to stay calm in emergency situations. I really grew as a person.” When she retired in 2023, she wanted to continue doing the things to “keep her soul full.” Sandy now volunteers at the hospital supporting infusion patients and patients in the emergency department. She also helps our team members keep rooms stocked and clean between appointments. “Volunteering really gives you a warm hug,” she said. “I leave knowing I did the best I could and helped as many patients and employees as I could.” We are grateful for Sandy and our other volunteers who help make our hospitals feel a little more like “home” for our patients and visitors. ??? #Volunteering | #Healthcare
