Advana is DoD's big analytics platform that all of the services have to use. There has been a lot of fanfare around it. They legitimately have pulled a ton of data into it, and it also includes Databricks, which is a good commercial product for managing your data and providing tools for data scientists to interact with it. Like a lot of projects in government, most of the technical people affiliated with Advana are contractors, not civilians. I get constant recruiter e-mails for data science and data engineering jobs on Advana. This is from the second I've gotten this week, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is the only information about the actual job that it contained. Nothing about what technology you'll be using. Nothing about impact. Nothing really about what specific skills they're looking for: it's not even clear that this is a "data scientist" job as opposed to a data analyst job. And nothing about salary. What this conveys is "we are looking for a warm body with a secret clearance." This is a talent management issue for DoD! This is not a good way of hiring data scientists!

When I open LinkedIn, I see almost 10 to 15 job postings for Data Engineering roles. Typically, towards the end of the year, opportunities tend to decrease. Still, due to the high demand in the data engineering field, we are now seeing many data engineer openings. ??
