CBAM, PPWR, EUDR, CS3D... behind these acronyms (and more to come!) there are new requirements and practices to gain more transparency on the value chain, with an increasing volume and complexity of data and documentation that we will need to exchange with our suppliers. How can we facilitate and optimize the data collection? Is it possible to build a standardized, harmonized process for the Automotive Aftermarket? I had the pleasure of joining the FAAS panel discussion with Peter Lukassen (Bosch), Alexander Granzin (Partslife), Claude Lotrian (TecAlliance) and Frank Schlehuber (Clepa) during the #SustainabilityDay2024 last week, to share ideas and explore opportunities in this rapidly evolving field. Inspired by the FAAS -Forum on Automotive Aftermarket Sustainability General Assembly and Sustainability Day 2024 in Stockholm last week! It was invigorating to connect with so many passionate individuals across the automotive aftermarket, all united by a common goal: driving sustainable practices forward. We spent valuable time discussing how our industry can contribute to a more sustainable future, exploring innovative solutions and sharing best practices. A particular highlight was the final panel discussion on ESG reporting moderated by Frank Schlehuber, in which I had the privilege of participating together with Claudia Bomba from LKQ Corporation, Alexander Granzin from PARTSLIFE and Claude Lotrian from TecAlliance. We had a productive conversation, aligning on key strategies to facilitate and standardize ESG reporting within our sector. This is a crucial step towards greater transparency and accountability, empowering us to measure our impact and accelerate progress towards a more sustainable automotive aftermarket.
