Christian Community Radio Stations Unite to Feed 166,971 Children As community radio marks 50 years in Australia, it's inspiring to see Christian stations exemplify the sector's enduring commitment to service. Christian Media & Arts Australia and Christian radio stations across Australia partnered with Feed The Hungry combining local voices with a global mission: 1. Coordinated on-air campaigns sharing stories of children in need 2. Community fundraising events broadcast across multiple stations 3. United digital engagement strategy extending reach beyond radio 4. Mobilizing volunteers for local initiatives nationwide This collaboration achieved remarkable results: - $1,001,826 raised - 166,971 children will be fed - Increased community engagement in social causes across Australia - Greater awareness of global hunger issues in diverse communities Key Insights 1. Can you help us to tackle homelessness? This month, and the next, and the next? We're a social enterprise and employ all of our tour guides. Raising funds can be tough because we're always asking people to part with money that is stretched in so many different directions. But now, people can make little monthly donations on a regular basis and that is huge news for us. ?? A fiver a month pays for training materials for a new guide ?? ￡10 a month pays for a venue for guide training ?? ￡20 a month pays for new guides to explore their city and hear from other museum, gallery and tour guides on how they run their tours. Check this out....and pleasssssssssssse don’t forget this is National Affordable Housing month…..as an Ambassador for PATH in support of homeless population, I am focused on sharing the facts about homelessness – “Most groups of color have higher rates of homelessness than their White counterparts—and, in some cases, far higher. Within the White group, 11 out of every 10,000 people experience homelessness. For Black people, that number is more than four times as large—48 out of every 10,000 people. Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islanders particularly stand out as having the highest rates, with 121 out of every 10,000 people experiencing homelessness.?The racial and ethnic groups with the highest incidences of homelessness have extensive histories of experiencing oppression, including displacements from land and property and exclusions from?housing opportunities. Effectively addressing homelessness will likely require invested partners to account for America’s history, and that history’s influence on current culture, policy, and practice.”….
