Due to a shortage of employees, a French transport company is getting to know drivers who stop at roadside restaurants and luring them to work for them??. Car transportation company 2L Logistics Group runs a personalized recruitment operation for vacancies called 2L Recrute. The principle is to meet drivers on the road, or more precisely in roadside restaurants. The carrier even has a well-thought-out schedule: dating takes place two Thursday evenings a month from 18:00. As the company explains, the 2L team (including driver instructors) plans to discuss the profession of a car transporter driver with existing truck drivers and present the equipment used. An interesting move, of course, but maybe it’s all about salaries and working conditions? According to the American job site Indeed, the average salary of a truck driver per year is $81,631. Beginners earn around $52,518, while experienced drivers earn up to $126,882. Where truck drivers are paid the most in Europe: TOP 6 countries Luxembourg – 43,958 euros per year (3,663 euros per month); Italy – 40,700 euros (3,392 euros per month); Belgium – 39,598 euros (3,299 euros per month); France – 38,519 euros (3,210 euros per month); Germany – 37,264 euros (3,105 euros per month); Spain – 30,616 euros (2,661 euros per month) Questions arise: American trucks are more comfortable and the wages are higher, in Europe there are dog houses on wheels and the wages are lower. When and what went wrong ??? Doesn't anyone understand this?

Do labour arrangements affect safety? They do. Employing temporary foreign workers (TFWs) changes the power dynamic of employer and employee, increasing the power of the employer over the employee. TFWs have less control over this relationship than their non-TFW peers, and they have less of an ability to leave a bad employer. This should not be an issue at a safe, welcoming, ethical employer. However, some aren't, and, when they get TFWs, the types of abuses described in this article may occur. TFWs are naturally more vulnerable than others. Organizations that use this program have the responsibility to help TFWs succeed in healthy and safe ways. Viewing this program as a source of cheaper, more compliant labour is unethical. If you're in safety, you should work on developing an understanding of the different labour arrangements at your organization. Employees, independent versus dependent contractors, TFWs, permanent versus nonpermanent positions, etc.: all of these differences in someone's relationship with their employer can have an impact on how well they're protected by the employer's safety system and larger societal safety systems. In addition, differences in individuals' cultures/personal lives also can impact safety. It's not realistic to expect people to leave their personal selves at the door when reporting for duty: the personal is professional. This doesn't mean people are not responsible for their actions, but it does mean safety systems should take steps to account for the diversity of the staff they're meant to protect. --- Questions about fleet safety management? Feel free to reach out to the Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) at [email protected] and, I or another advisor will be available to help. --- Michelle Spacil Cliff Litke Doug Walton Chad Albert Kristin Picken, CTSP Andrew Barnes Leo Barros

Air India Cabin Crew v. Yeshawinee Merchant and others In the case of Air India vs Nargesh Meerza which lasted around 30 years, the Air Hostess lost in a legal battle fighting for equal requirement age for both male and female employees. While the male employees could work until age 58, the female attendants were to retire at age 35. In the year 1989 after filing a petition in Lok Sabha for the aforesaid discrimination, the Government of India came out with legislation, that allowed female attendants can be given suitable ground staff jobs after the age of 35 and they were to retire at the age of 58 just like the other male attendants. Following the lead Air India in the year 1990 issued a notification stating that female flight attendants who have attained the age of 45 would be given a suitable job in ground staff duties. In 1993, this age limit was extended up to 50 years, subject to the employee’s medical fitness for flying duties. After this Air India was divided into two separate entities through legislation, one of which was Indian Airlines and the other Air India. Air India entered into a contract with the Air India Cabin Crew for the services of flight attendants in the year 1995. #aklegalassociates #criminallawyer #lawyer #lawfirm #GenderDiscrimination #EqualEmploymentOpportunity #LegalBattle #GenderEquality #LegislativeChange https://aklegal.in/zhf9

+$7.5 Billion in 5 Years The trucking Industry in the UAE Projected to grow by $7.5 Billion in the next 5 years (AED27.5 billion). This will be a jump from the $20 billion in 2024 to $27.5 billion by 2029. This is tremendous growth at a time when safety, driver shortage, government regulations and fuel costs continue to hammer down the industry. Despite all these challenges, the industry's impressive projection points to a growing need for logistical and transport support. It seems to be a perfect time for trucking companies to work on those marginal issues that give them advantage such as safety training, driver welfare, and fleet management, especially fleet service and maintenance. #trucks #truckingindustry #truckingcompany #transportation #logisticssolutions #supplychain #fleetmanagement #safety

Understanding Overbooking and Denied Boarding Compensation in India Ever been bumped from a flight because it was overbooked? Here’s what you need to know! ?? ?? What is Overbooking? Overbooking happens when airlines sell more tickets than there are seats on the plane. They do this expecting some passengers won’t show up. But sometimes, more people show up than there are seats available. ? First Step: Ask for Volunteers When a flight is overbooked, the airline must first ask for volunteers to give up their seats in exchange for benefits, like vouchers or upgrades. This helps to make room for other passengers with confirmed bookings. ?? Denied Boarding: Your Rights If no one volunteers and you're denied boarding against your will, your rights depend on how soon the airline can get you on an alternate flight. ?? No Compensation Needed: If the airline arranges another flight that departs within 1 hour of your original flight, they don't owe you compensation. ?? Compensation When Delayed: 200% of your fare (max ?10,000): If the new flight departs within 24 hours of your original flight. 400% of your fare (max ?20,000): If the new flight departs more than 24 hours later. ?? If You Don't Take the New Flight: You’re entitled to a full refund plus 400% of your fare, up to ?20,000. ?? Connecting Flights: If you miss a connection due to being denied boarding, and this delays your arrival by 3+ hours, the airline of your first flight must compensate you according to these rules. Knowing your rights helps you navigate overbooking situations with confidence! ???? #Overbooking #TravelRights #PassengerCompensation #Aviation #DGCA

The International Transport Workers' Federation has identified another Mideast vessel operator that?has allegedly abandoned multiple ships and their crews, without supplies or wages. According to ITF, the parties that would ordinarily take responsibility - the owner, flag state, or the nation of ownership - have not stepped forward to help.? According to ITF, the UAE-based shipowner Middle East Marine LLCd has had 17 abandonment cases since late 2022, in locations across South Asia. The agency says that it has responded to abandonment claims aboard 18 of the firm's ships from Bangladesh to India to Sri Lanka. The majority of the seafarers involved are from Myanmar, Indonesia and India.? The affected crewmembers have reported non-payment of wages, lack of food, dirty water, refusal of access to health care, and withholding of passports and medication. These are typical abuses associated with forced labor, routinely?found in corners of the?fishing industry but less often encountered in commercial shipping. ITF - which handles dozens of abandonment cases every year - called it the "worst case of serial seafarer abandonment ever seen."? Middle East Marine is an established firm based in the UAE. It says that it provides a wide diversity of commercial services, including chartering, project cargo, container repositioning, salvage & towage, bunkering, armed private security, crewing, shipmanagement, and small craft chartering. It has four locations in the UAE and India.?
