Yesterday, February 20th, Ted Zoller hosted the second E-Lab at The Pitch Chapel Hill, featuring thought leaders Erik Severinghaus and Ritwik Pavan, both graduates of the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and passionate innovators. Erik is the author of Scale Your Everest and Co-Founder/CEO of Bloomfilter. Delivering an inspiring, thought-provoking message, he compared his entrepreneurial journey to his experience successfully climbing Mt. Everest. He expressed that while being an entrepreneur has many thrills, it is a challenge that requires immense perseverance and grit in the face of adversity. Showcasing the mentorship he yearned for himself as a student, he “leveled with” them, preparing them for the tough, yet rewarding world of entrepreneurship—a career that can sometimes feels like a climb the size of Mt. Everest. The next presentation was given by Ritwik Pavan, a brilliant entrepreneur and the current COO of Fragile. From creating a game that reached the top 20 on the App Store chart to founding Linker Logic Technologies, Vade and Krava, Ritwik has always had an innate knack for problem-solving. Ritwik also elaborated on the challenges of entrepreneurship that are oftentimes shocking to new founders; however, are necessary to expect and be prepared to face. He shared that the spirit of entrepreneurialism requires tenacity—and that sometimes your own solutions can surprise you.
