In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to overlook mental wellness. I know myself, that often it’s hard to listen to your mind and body, slow down and prioritise your wellbeing. When setting up Oakland Search, I wanted to create an environment that was committed to fostering a supportive workplace, where open conversations and self-care are encouraged. This year's theme is mental health in the workplace which reinforces the importance of a healthy work-life balance and working for an employer who makes you feel your happiest and healthiest self. We had an insightful training session with Havant and East Hants Mind on Monday to raise awareness around this topic and highlighting the importance of tackling stigma. We spend a 1/3 of our lives at work which is why it's fundamental for us to foster a trusting environment where employees feel comfortable and encouraged to reach out for support. By offering beneficial resources, flexible working arrangements and open conversations, we can help build a culture of care that allows everyone to feel valued. We continue to make mental health and employee wellbeing a priority everyday, not just today ?? A kind word, a simple smile, or just offering a listening ear can make the difference in someone's day.?You never know how much someone may need it. Helplines available: ? Today is World Mental Health Day – a reminder to prioritise mental wellbeing in the workplace, as well as every other aspect of life. At Ashleigh & Burwood, we believe that creating a supportive environment is key - here are a few of the ways that we aim to support mental health at work: Mental Health First Aider: Our lovely team members, Emma Powell and Sian Stone, are always on hand to offer support and guidance to anyone who might need it. Culture of Openness: We foster open communication, encouraging colleagues to form meaningful connections that go beyond work. We always make it a priority to check in with one another, especially when the world outside feels challenging. Weekly Fruit: A small gesture to give a quick boost of wellbeing and remind colleagues to nourish their bodies and minds. Flexible Working: We understand that life doesn’t always fit into a 9-to-5 schedule, so we offer flexibility to accommodate personal needs and circumstances. Staff Socials and Monthly Meetings: These give us the chance to connect, share feedback, and support one another in an open, relaxed environment.
