Profit & Loss Analysis Using Power BI Transforming Data into Insights: I came across a project brief by Etuk Anietie to analyze the Profit & Loss statements for 67Capital Ltd to uncover valuable insights across six branches in South-South Nigeria, spanning 2020–2023. Using Power BI, I was able to identify key revenue trends, expense patterns, and profitability drivers. ?? Tools Used: Power BI for visualizations and DAX for advanced calculations. Key Insights: ?? Akwa Ibom branch led in revenue but needs cost optimization to sustain profitability. ??Edo branch achieved the highest profit margin due to efficient expense management. ??Delta branch struggled with consistent losses, requiring immediate restructuring. Recommendations: ??Expand successful products from high-growth branches to underperforming regions. ??Conduct expense audits for branches with high operational costs. ??Allocate resources strategically to branches with high growth potential. Results Delivered: ? Interactive dashboards showcasing revenue and expense trends. ? Year-over-Year (YoY) performance analysis for strategic planning. ? ?? Unveiling Financial Insights: My Latest Data Analysis Project ?? Thrilled to share my recent data analysis project, where I analyzed four years of Profit & Loss (P&L) data for a company’s six branches in South-South Nigeria. This project was aimed at uncovering actionable insights to enhance financial performance and drive strategic decisions. ?? What I Did: - Data Cleaning & Preparation: Removed duplicates and categorized transactions into revenue and expenses for clarity. - Data Modeling: Built a robust data model using Excel Power Pivot by creating dimension tables and establishing relationships for streamlined analysis. - Analysis & Visualization: Leveraged Pivot Tables and advanced Excel visualizations to explore trends in revenue, expenses, and profitability. ?? Key Findings: - Akwa Ibom emerged as the most profitable branch with a net profit of ?886M and a 53% profit margin. - Delta had the lowest profitability, highlighting an opportunity for cost optimization and revenue growth. - Branches exhibited year-over-year fluctuations in profitability, indicating areas for strategic interventions. ?? Impact: This project highlighted critical areas for improvement, such as cost management and revenue growth, and provided data-driven recommendations to stabilize profitability trends. ? Takeaway: This experience reinforced my ability to transform raw financial data into meaningful insights that inform business strategies. Week 19 #3MTTweeklyReflection This week, for my quick impact challenge, I chose to help a local business owner struggling to manage stock effectively. They often ran out of popular items, leading to missed sales opportunities. Using the data analysis and visualization skills from my 3MTT track, I organized their recent sales data in Power BI. I created a dashboard that visualized the top selling items and identified peak sales days. This allowed the owner to clearly see which products needed more frequent restocking. In just 24 hours, the insights from the Power BI dashboard helped them make more informed stocking decisions, which they were excited to implement.
