This agent interviewed one of my transaction coordinators. After the normal "My goodness. You do way more than anyone else does," this agent also told Stephanie something not so unusual. She said that her current transaction coordinator has very, very limited hours. Why is this? Because, like most transaction coordinators these days, it's a part time gig. It's a side hustle. You see, for me and my team, this isn't a side hustle. It's not a part time gig. It's not something we do just to bring in a little extra money. That's not how transaction management works. I've shared about getting past gatekeepers but I had a recent experience where the gate keeper was the reason we got the business. We weren't going to be able to get in the same room as the CEO so we made sure to find out what areas were going to help the gatekeeper the most. By the end of the meeting she declined meetings with other providers, went to the CEO and raved about Cintas. You're not always going to get in the same room as the DM so focus on what is going to get the business. I will even ask a straightforward question like "what will we need to do in order to get a yes from your CEO"? In this case it was freeing up time for their employees. #cintas #b2b #gatekeeper #sales #facilitymanagement

At the start of the week I posted a list of things I wanted to achieve in an attempt to take charge of my control-freak nature. Get at LEAST 3 check in dates booked! - Well I got two dates booked, so two thirds of a point. ?? Complete a weeks worth of scheduled posts for social media! - Complete! ?? Box off outstanding maintenance jobs! - Complete! ?? Complete the week of banking without my personal meltdown manager Helen Cheung - banking done and no tears! ?? Get our six new properties ready to be let! Mostly complete, but an ongoing job... ?? Complain I don’t have enough time, the entire time ?? - Obviously complete! ?? Amongst all the other emails, tasks, phone calls, and checklists this week, the team at Northwood Wirral (Limited) have pulled together and we're all over it. Some advice I wish I could give to myself when I was first starting my journey as an Escrow Officer: When I first started, the world of escrow seemed large and complex. However, knowing what I know now, the main thing I would tell my past self is to dedicate time to learn as much as possible about the industry. Understanding the ins and outs of Title positions you as a knowledgeable professional. When you are well-informed and confident in your line of work, people take you more serious and rely on your judgment. The time and effort invested in learning pays off when you start to become a go-to resource in your field and start to see client retention and referrals. To anyone starting their career, whether in escrow or any other field, I strongly recommend committing to continuous learning.
